After reading the 1rst and 3rd response, it is worth shining more light on such a concept that they meant as nothing more than a mock...

There is a reason the Bible speaks about how when a man and women come together...that they become one (get married)..."know" each other (have sex)...and new life comes forth (have a baby).

It is, in fact, a spiritual analogy of truth:
Through the “knowing” of God through Jesus Christ…comes new life…a “new creation”…one who is “born” spiritually – even filled with the Holy Spirit!

Justification could be likened to the wedding ceremony – while the two are declared man and wife, so to is a sinner declared a saint in justification.

To be born of Spirit could be likened to the consummation of the wedding – Spirit entering man, as man enters woman.

And the overflow of the Holy Spirit within a person producing the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) could be likened to the “fruit” produced after sperm meets egg leading to new life of a baby.

Through the mediator, Jesus Christ, man is reconciled to God – to be one with Him - even as Jesus prayed in John 17:
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
-

Christians often speak of being “saved”…emphasizing the truth that all are sinners and fall short of the glory of God…and need a “Savior” – Jesus Christ – who came and died for them on the cross.

Others speak of having “eternal life”…perhaps emphasizing that though they may die physically, yet they are eternal…and will go to heaven.

John 17:3 says this:
“Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”

Jesus Christ is the very object of our greatest, deepest, and ultimate desire.
To have Him is to have eternal life is to know Him is to be one with Him:
“And this is the testimony: that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”
-1 John 5:11-12

Surely, it is not “mistake” that God made sex so pleasurable! If “knowing” another person – having sex with a spouse – that is becoming one with another human – brings so much pleasure…how much more is “knowing” God – and becoming one with Him?

The fruit of knowing God…is the fruit of the Holy Spirit – even love, joy, and peace.

God did not send Jesus into the world to condemn, but to save – to give life to the full!

Taste and see that the Lord is good!

That is, to know the Lord is infinitely better than even the best sex.

to Know the Lord; to Love the Lord

To know the Lord is to have a personal relationship with Him just as you would have a personal relationship with your family. He is The Father. This being the case, He is given the respect of having the authority over my household. Just as He took the time to create me, in order for me to know Him, I had to take the time to learn about who He is and what He expects out of us. After I got to know Him, I found that life was never better. Good things started happening. Granted, bad things still happened; however, when they happened, I knew where to turn for help, because I took the time to get to KNOW the Lord.

Have you asked Jesus Christ into your life, Do you know Jesus went to the cross for your sins, have you asked forgiveness and repented of them, handed your life over to God, so God can use you as a vessel, Do you fully trust in God, God makes our lives better on earth by filling them with good fruit, and gives us eternal lives in The Holy Kingdom, only God know everything that will happen, knows what is best for us, and has our best interest at heart, The Lord loves us, and if you have a personal relationship with the Lord, you Know The Lord.

In Hebrew, this word "know" means being familiar with a person, NOT information. We need to look to the Latin languages such as French and Spanish to understand that they have different words for both types of "knowledge" that we only have one for: Savoir vs. Connaitre. "Knowing the Lord" means spending time with Him, listening to Him and letting Him listen to you.

What is a "relationship". Would you say "hi" to them, would you go to their house, would you read their book? Is that all?
Would you sit down and talk to them? Could you or would you have a need for them to talk back to you? I mean you love them, and want to feel their presence, as a love relationship? You think about them all the time, you have a need hear their guidance, their love, a mutual compassion. This is your "FATHER", IN WHOM YOU TRUST AND LEAVE YOUR EXISTANCE IN THEIR CARE"..HE LIVES IN YOUR HEART. I used to just go to His house, hear His words, pray with the congregation, THIS IS NOT ENOUGH... The Lord says that many will claim to kn ow Him, but He does not know THEM. TO KNOW HIM IS TO LOVE HIM AND FEEL HIS SUFFERING ON THE CROSS, YOU MUST GO BACK TO THE CROSS,OR YOU DO NOT HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM. HE LIVES WITHIN YOU.

Hi Kidd. I know the Lord. I talk to Him, and He talks to me. I know what He wants from me, and I know how He feels about things. I know when I let Him down, too. I also know I can ask and get an answer, as well as being forgiven of my mistakes, and sin. He is my Father!

Good question!!!

Job 9:23 (NIV) When a scourge brings sudden death, God mocks the despair of the innocent.

Job 9:17 (NIV) He would crush me with a storm and multiply my wounds for no reason.

Proverbs 1:26-28 (NIV)
I in turn will laugh at your disaster; I will mock when calamity overtakes you - when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you. "Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me.

Jeremiah 11: 14 "Do not pray for this people nor offer any plea or petition for them, because I will not listen when they call to me in the time of their distress.

Malachi 1:4 (NIV) Edom may say, "Though we have been crushed, we will rebuild the ruins." But this is what the LORD Almighty says: "They may build, but I will demolish. They will be called the Wicked Land, a people always under the wrath of the LORD.

The above references barely scratch the surface...!!!
