My 12 year old son went to his friends house, fhey went to the pool and I found out they were sitting in the hottub for almost the whole time (3-4 hours)

My son is home now, his skin looks different. It looks very dried out as if there is no moisturize left in his skin. He also says its itchy sometimes.

What should I be doing?

Aplying creram such as "nivea" and some other balms.

He will most likely get a bacterial infection on the upper strata of his dermis. If red blotts start appearing on his skin, take him to a dermatologist..

Hot Tubs, Spas etc are basically a breeding ground for germs and all types of nasties. A normal swimming pool uses a simple math for calculating how much water to put. This is 33 litres per bather per day

So Hot tub big enough for two people? that would need 66litres just to disinfect what the two friends had used. Your sons skin is dried out because the oils have disappeared. Moisturise and get him to drink plenty of water. It may require a visit to the skin specialist.

He'll be fine. The chemicals just leeched the natural oils out of his skin. It will recover in 1-2 days. In the meantime, just keep it protected with lotion.

he should take a bath in water with salt in it, to help clease his skin of all the chemicals from the hot tub. Then apply some good lotion afterward.

It's probably just itching because it's dried out. Invest in cetaphil. It's what my dermatologist suggested for dry skin, and it works fabulous.

Bring him to a dermatologist. They'll give you some prescription moisturizer for him so his skin becomes healthy again.
