Yes perioxide is good, but you need to put an antibiotic ointment on it as well, such as Neosporin and keep it covered, clean it twice a day with soap and water then peroxide, more neosporin etc. If it is hurting I would soak it in warm to hot water first, then follow the above process. If not well in 2 days see the doctor.

Any of the medications mentioned here should help (although I think rubbing alcohol would be more painful on an open cut than peroxide), but if you really mean a scar and not just a cut or scab, you'd better see a doctor. Once a wound gets to the scar stage, it's supposed to healed, or nearly so. If it reopens, that may be a sign of trouble. BTW, when you say "still," how long ago did the cut happen? If the answer is more than a few days, that, too, should be reason to see the doctor.

Try natural remedies, forget peroxides. Lavender oil is good. It may sting a little to begin with, but it soon forms a scab on the surface. My mum had an open ulcer on her leg, after 2 days of treatment it closed over and scabbed. However, if this persists for more than a week go to hospital, I mean it as it can become extremely nasty, you may need antibiotics. Use the lavender 3 times a day, keep it open do not dress it or cover it up. Do not use excessive amounts, get some on your finger (hopefully cleaned before hand).

Clean it with Bactine or peroxide and cover it with a Band-Aid. Use Neosporin under the bandage if you like. Change the bandage regularly. Or, if you prefer, use a liquid bandage like Nexcare liquid bandage. Those often also soothe the sting.

Scarring actually is an indication that the wound is healing, but you will still need to flush it to address the infection. See your doctor if the infection gets worse or doesn't begin to clear within a few days.

If it is a small wound, clean with Hydrogen Peroxide (its super cheap, too) or try Bactene.

Then apply Neosporin ointment and bandage it.

If this is a larger wound, it might require a doctor's visit and a prescription of antibiotics.

Don't use peroxide that will be extremely painful.

put rubbing alcohol and neosporan on it and bandage it up. Change it everyday.

You should go to the doctor they might be able to get rid of the infection with antibiotics.

if it gets worse you'll have to have the infection cut out.

I prefer to wash area with antibacterial soap and water, rinse well then apply neosporin and leave open to air. Seems like areas heal better doing this.
