And is teaching something that is entirely incorrect considered child abuse? Another example would be teaching that reading books are the only way you can die. Would this too be considered child abuse?

I agree, brainwashing kids with nonsense should be a crime.

Vote the fundies out of our government is a good start.

Unknown.

If they will listen to the truth of His Word, checking the Hebrew, Gen.1:1-2 is very clear.

Then there is second Peter.

2Pe 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
2Pe 3:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
2Pe 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Then there is Jeremiah 4.

Jer 4:22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
Jer 4:23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
Jer 4:24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
Jer 4:25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
Jer 4:26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.
Jer 4:27 For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.

It is not yours or any government's place to start interfering in what religions (or non-religions) we decide to teach to our own children.*

That, my friend, is a precedent that has already been overturned, and it should stay overturned.

Freedom of speech and religion is not perfect, but the alternative is a horror and, I would not stand for it.

These are difficult questions. According to law I don't think it is wrong, but according to morals and values it could be considered abuse.
