I think that no matter what religion you are you should have the right to worship as you please, and though I'm not Muslim, I would never disrespect their right to wear their head scarfs. I think it's beyond rude to pull of their scarfs, when that is part of their religion. That would be like someone pulling off our sacred garments (LDS), or a non-Christian ripping off a Christian's crucifix or someone ripping up a Jewish prayer shawl. We have a right to wear these things, and no one else should disrespect that. Sadly though, this doesn't mean people won't disrespect it.

I'm not Muslim, and I've never pulled the head scarf of a Muslim woman. I don't know anyone who's ever done that.

I object to all forms of bigotry. My Church has always had a toleration for other religions. In our Articles of Faith we say:

We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

In recent years we have cooperated with Muslim organizations to provide humanitarian aid:

30 May 2006 SALT LAKE CITY — Islamic Relief Worldwide and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are working together to provide urgently needed medical supplies to victims of the devastating earthquake that struck Indonesia on Saturday.

More than eight semi-truckloads of critical medical items from the Church’s welfare and humanitarian storehouses in Salt Lake City were flown to Indonesia in a 747 cargo jet provided by Islamic Relief Worldwide. The plane left Salt Lake City International Airport on Tuesday evening and is expected to arrive in Indonesia by late Wednesday.

Two wrongs don't make a right. But we all need to learn how to have respect for other people. Treat them how we want to be treated. Now, I don't believe in what the muslims believe in but I'm certainly not going to FORCE my beliefs on anyone or treat them harshly because they don't believe in what I do.

I think it is wrong, people have no right to force themselfves onto others. Doesn't matter what people choose to wear, I have no right to pull it off and to "hoot" whatever that means at them

As salaamu 'alaikym warahmatullahi wabaraktuh, my friend.

Insha'Allah, how interesting to read the answers of those who deny that what you are reporting has happened because they have not pesonally witnessed it.

I wonder how many of them have been to Iraq to witness what is hapening there? As most of them have not, do they deny that a civil war has been created by an invading army that was sent to search for weapons of mass diestruction that never existed?

Were any of them actually in New York city on Sept.11, or did they "see" it on television? It must be real as it was on television. All movies must be real, too, and soap operas, etc.

Did they see men walk on the moon or was it just on television? They wern't on the moon so by their logic, it must not have happen.

Insha'Allah, when persons choose to isolate themselves in the relative comfort and safety of their own country, city, community or family group and refuse to learn about what is occuring in the rest of the world because "they have not personally witnessed the same", they can feel smug and judge or condemn others for doing things that they have not personally witnessed except on television.

I wonder how many of these same person profess faith in "Jesus Christ" as the "Son of God"? I wonder how many of them have actually seen him?

Insha'Allah, to all those who seem so happily hidden in the safety of their own dillusions, there is a real world out there and like it or not you are a part of it. We all have to live together. We each choose how we will do the same.

Ma'a salaam

Looks like you can't win either way.
Did you know that if a Muslim woman gets raped, she's flogged, even though its not her fault?

Islam is a misunderstood religion, we should be educating our children on more than just the Judeo-Christian beliefs, not so they may believe other things, but in raising awareness, will lead to tolerance.
