I woke up this morning and my dogs eye had a lot of discharge coming out of it. It was all goopy around his eye, and it's still coming out. Not a lot, but little bits at a time. His eye looks a little red as well, could he have pink eye? Anyone know any treatments?

They get conjunctivitis, sometimes from dirt in the yard and often from hanging their heads out the car window. Def needs a vet to prevent permanent damage and vision loss. Dogs are also prone to dry eye which if untreated leads to blindness. Eye problems are nothing to fool around with. Different breeds are prone to different eye problems. I always keep sterile tears around to flush out the dogs' eyes when they come in if it is dusty.

They can get eye infections. Taking the dog to the vet to have it checked and getting the right ointment or drops is the thing to do.
Untreated, the dog can begin rubbing the eye and cause permanent damage.

Yes, and they need antibiotics just like we do. My dog got a really bad infection and had to be on all sorts of medications and the vet told us it could have led to permanent damage if we hadn't brought her in.

Yes, I definitely think they can. Call a vet or google information about it. I don't have a dog, just cats so I'm sorry I couln't be of much more help.
