Ok, I fell out with my son because I caught him smoking cigs in his room. I gave him the silent treatment and I decided to not let him goto his football club and tennis or I don't even bother to make his dinner. I told him,"If I ever catch you doing that again, I'll kick you out of her, you ungrateful little fat bastard, how dare you do that." My wife wanted to just talk him through with it but I wanted to take action. So, he was trying to talk to me and I kept on cutting it off. They then screamed,"SNAP OUT OF IT !" And stormed out of the house and went to his grans ... that all happened 5 mins ago. Do you think I was too harsh on him ?

I agree with Joe, below me. How could you do that ? I mean, did you like getting called **** like that or getting treated like it ? No ! So why do you think that it was good for him ? I think that you should apologize before this goes to the police and let your wife take charge. Shame on you.

Do you remember at all what life was like as a child when you were growing up?
How would you have liked being called a "fat little bastard" growing up?How would that have made you feel, be a REAL man and be HONEST with yourself. It would have made you like sh_t and after yrs of being talked to like that by the parents who are supposed to "LOVE" you, you'd feel hated and rejected by them and the only reason they kept you around was you felt obligated and thats it.
Now, I'm betting that either you and?or your wife smokes correct?
Monkey see monkey do and your going to treat him like trash because he does something his PARENTS do?
Yeah you were to harsh with him.You call him and apologize and tell him you were wrong. Then you start setting an EXAMPLE for him by not smoking and your wife needs to stop also.Next do not EVER talk to your son that way again and apologize to him for EVER talking to him like that in the first place.
The best thing you could do for yourself AND family is to get in church and learn what kind of daddy GOD expects us men to be.
Shame on you.

Well yeah! OK parents get angry but this language is unacceptable. Go get your son and have a talk with him. Apologize for the words and let him know that you became angry as you are very concerned about his health. Hug him, tell him that you love him and have a positive talk.

Nice try, kid. Posting as your dad, in order to prove him wrong and justify your behavior? Regardless of what he did, you were still in the wrong. Face up to it, make amends with him, and make better decisions in the future. Good luck!

I don't think you resemble Ward Cleaver or Mike Brady in any way.
