I just recently bought a box of 30-06 bullets, I received 19,
30-06 bullets and there was 1 round of 270., I never owned a 270. in my life is there a place where I can complain to the company, or possibly get some free ammo out of the deal???

Take it back where you bought it and see what happens. I can tell you when it's manufactured there are seperate manufacturing "lines" for each caliber so there is no way this happened at the factory. More than likely the retail store where you bought it was responsible. Possibly a customer pulled a round out of the box to compare to a 270 and the rounds got put back in the wrong boxes..I'm sure this happens often if someone doesn't pay attention.....Don't look to get free ammunition because most stores will just swap you a part box for a full box of the correct caliber you were originally getting..........

I would do two things. First make a note of the batch number of the box of ammo and send this info to the manufacturer along whith a letter of explanation. Secondl;y, take the box back to the dealer and tell him what you found. I suspect that the .270 cartridge ended up in your box as a result of people opening boxes to look at the ammo. For some reason, there are people who do this. I guess they just want to see what it looks like. I have a serious doubt that it came from the factory that way. What is most likely to happen is that the dealer will simply replace the box that you have with a new box. You will probably receive a letter from the manufacturer thanking you for letting them know if the problem and assuring you that actions have been taken to assure that it never happens again. There is a very slight possibility that they may send you a certificate for a new box of ammo but don't count on it. One thing to remember when dealing with these people is politeness counts. Getting rude with them will get you no where and may keep you from getting any freebies that may have come your way if you had been polite in explaining the problem. Be sure to mention the safety concern that you have if you had accidently gotten the .270 round loaded into your gun. Safety concerns get a pretty high priority.

Oh, by the way, be sure to check the head stamp on the .270 cartridge to be sure that it is the same as the manufacturer of the .30-06 ammo. If you bought one brand and the .270 is another brand, you know for sure that it happened in the store and not at the factory. Might save you some embarassment.

Lots of Luck.* Maybe you would have a better case if 19 cartridges were 270 caliber & just one 30-06.*

I would contact both the retailer and the manufacture. I would also think twice about buying anymore from that company if a .270 got into a box of 30-06 I would question there production standards and quality control methods.

I doubt you'll get anything but an even exchange. Unless you popped off a few already. You could possibly get a free box by saying yeah I shot off a few and here in the middle of the box was a270. They most likely wont open a box to give you one shell!

I would start by contacting winchester ammunition and letting them know what happend.

I would then take the ammo back to where you bought it at. Most places will not exchange ammo or let you return it but they might give you a a free box.

Take it back to where you bought it. Give him the .270 and he'll give you a free 30-06.
