I think that no dogs on the furniture would be a welcome rule in your house. Dogs naturally will want to pee on any soft surface, so until you feel that you have got a better history of rewarded, successful potty trips outside, you will want to keep the dogs off the bed and couches and etc. Crate them if it's too much work to keep them off - sometimes, trying to teach a whole bunch of new behaviors is overwhelming. Thanks for rescuing and good luck!

Ok, this may seem weird but put her food on your bed. Dogs do not like to go where they eat. If you feed the dog on your bed a few times (not forever) it will learn that that is not the place to go. Our dog was pooping on the floor in the same spot and we moved his food dish there for a week and now he doesn't poop there.

well she most likely had no where to go if she was in a bad home before......saying that i would recomend you not punish the dog for doing that because she knows no different...maybe try taking her outside when she does that and tell her that this is where should go go to use the bathroom...if that doesnt work then try talking to your local vet....see if they have anything to say...but most of all dont give up on her it all has to take time....it will take a different amount of time depending on how old she is....hope i could help and good luck

thats so sweet to rescue that dog!! well i'm just gonna tell you that i'm in jr. high school and i'm gettin my first puppy today!! i'm so excited. they are so cute. well if its a old dog then it will kinda hard to train them. so when they pee on the bed, don't scold them or be harsh. say no in a little high voice and no treat. when she/he pees somewhere else give a treat. and when she/he gets the idea that she/he will get a treat when she pees somewhere else tthen she/he will keep doing it. =] HOPE I'VE HELPED I KNOW THIS IS LONG =]

Dogs are territorial animals. They define their territory by where they pee. Evidently, your dog is smelling something on the bed that causes her to feel her territory is in question.

This is an example of why dogs need their own space, which is not inside of your space.
