If you are talking about the ones that are thrown into the air to be shot with shotguns (simulates bird or small game hunting) they are called clay pigeons.

Clay pigeons, clay birds, clays, etc. They are not disks but more like miniature, brittle Frisbees.

If you are speaking of the ones that you shoot in the air with a shotgun, they are called "clay pigeons". If you are talking about the ones that you shoot with a pistol or rifle that are made of steel, there are several different things that they could be. If they are shaped like animals, they are called "silhouettes". The ones that pistol shooters use for targets they are called "steel plates" or "clangers".
There may be other names for the steel ones but those are the ones that I am familiar with.

sporting clays or clay pigeons. also have shatter blast targets for my kids bb guns. about the same as a large clay but only about 2 in diameter. held up by stands,,, like shooting those myself

They are called clay pigions or clays or disks. all depends on personal prefrence.

At the gun club here they are referred to as "clay pigeons" or Skeet."
