I thought you need to have the basis in order to go to the next level. How can you think like one if you don't have one? Don't you need to have the support and encouragement of IQ? Can you be successful with your efforts? There's are some people who have the opportunity to become one, such as intelligent people. By the way, how can I increase my IQ from 136 to 150's? I am planning to be a surgeon, so if you could please give out some suggestions. There are some things that just don't click right away, which means that I won't be very successful, but a very high IQ will do it.

You also need people skill, that is EQ.

You need to not be so compulsive about scores and put one foot in front of the other and learn. Learn all you can as much as you can, allowing time to laugh and love. You need to have emotional intelligence as much as intellectual intelligence; with intellectual intelligence you will just go through the motions of medicine, but with no empathy. OK a surgeon doesn't have to have excellent bedside manner, as your patients will be asleep, but you still have to live amongst others. You must make a decision also to make money or to make a life. Too many medical people (mostly men) think they are Gods, and I wouldn't give you a dime for most of the medical men I know because of this. They are fine at work and make loads of money, but I rarely spend quality time with them.
Most things don't click right away, so you must also learn patience. I had to learn Dutch to live in Holland, and the first year was so depressing. Finally, it all fell into place and the language was there. It just took time to all come together. It was this way when I was preparing for my career field, also. When I treated my first patient, I was terrified. Then it all fell into place and I love what I did and do.
Focus on the right things, get your head into the right place, and study, study, study. And take time to relax and be a real person, not a robot. Why do you want to have an IQ of 150? Then what. Just be! Have a great life, and be the person God meant you to be...a healer, but also a fine person.

Oh boy, I know soo many folks who have high IQ and have very little social skills....my nephew, for example. He doesn`t understand people, nor does he have any friends. I pity him, when he grows up, ( and becomes part of the adult world), he will have a real hard time coping and becoming a successful member of society. Your IQ is not the only predictor of how successful you`ll be, your people skills, your eagerness to learn new tasks, and your likability, will probably gain you success in life..

IQ has very little to do with how successful you will become. It is internal motivation, the will to succeed and perserverence. People of all levels of IQ have this and are successful and satisfied in their occupations. Forget about the numbers. There are a lot of people with high IQ's who are idiots. They have no social skills, no friends and cannot function independently in society. They live in a very narrowly defined world of work only. This reinforces my theory that IQ does not count.

J B is spot on.

Self motivation and hard work means more toward a successful occupation.

Just go for an occupation that melds with your interests. Its so much better waking up looking forward to going to work than dreading it.

I see evidence that the brown nosing sub-literates seem to do a better job advancing than the intellectuals...

IQ is a load of garbage to me, and there have been recent studies suggesting that these IQ tests are not very accurate.

This is what I think.

If you know what you love to do, and you know what you want to do for the rest of your life, then go for it. Don't listen to what anyone else has to say if all they're going to say is "you can't do it," or, "no, it's impossible for you."

Impossible is nothing.
