how many white blood cells were present? a few is normal. moderate to large indicate something is going on. are you having urinary tract infection symptoms? also, are you a male or female? in females, sometimes inadequate cleansing and improper clean catch techniques can introduce vaginal "wash" into the urine. in other words, wbc's from any vaginitis will flow into the urine cup as the urine flows over your vaginal area. the first step, if you have a significant amount of wbc's, would be a urine microscopic exam and possibly urine culture. this would confirm the severity and degree of your infection (bladder infection or kidney infection) and the type of bacterial causing the infection. the culture would identify the bacterial causing the infection, as well as appropriate antibiotics to use to treat the problem.

It doesn't mean automatically that you have an infection.

How many white cells were found? It could be a measure of inflammation too.

If the remaining urinalysis is normal, it's highly unikely that you have an infection.
