Because Satan is the author of confushion, God's word is infallible, He says what he means and means what he says.

We don't worship Mary or any other saint. We treat them the same way Protestants treat the "heroes" of their faith, like Chuck Swindoll, Oswald Chambers, Elisabeth Elliot, etc.
We don't pray to the DEAD, we ask Christians who have received the gift of eternal life promised to us by Jesus to pray with us and for us. They are LIVING members of the Body of Christ, LIVING in Heaven with Jesus, and they are still actively praying for God's will to be done, same as those of us living on earth.
We don't ask our priests to forgive us, we ask JESUS to forgive us. The priest tells us that Jesus died for our sins and that we are absolved by the Blood of the Lamb. That's the same thing you believe, isn't it? So you have no reason to condemn us for believing it.
The Bible does NOT say it's wrong to repeat prayers. Give me a break! Do you think you can only ask Jesus to forgive you ONCE and then all your other sins, you're stuck with? Do you think that you can only ask God for mercy ONCE and never again during the rest of your life? Do you think you can ask Him to show you the way only ONCE and never again? Do you think that when Jesus taught people to pray, "Our Father, who art in Heaven..." He meant them to just say it ONCE and never again?
The Bible only condemns VAIN repetition -- vain as in pointless, meaningless, ineffectual.
God does not prevent men from having wives, nor does the Church, but the Bible specifically says that celibacy is also good and that some people are called to it. In the Catholic Church, because there is so much work to be done, the Church asks our priest to take a vow of celibacy, which they do so willingly. This is so they won't be divided between the demands of home and the demands of the Church. It is a temporary rule; some day when the people of God get with it and start doing more of the work so that the clergy's role is less demanding, they will likely change the rule and allow priests to marry again.
What you need to do is learn more about what the Catholic Church *really* teaches. Somebody has lied to you, and you believe things about Catholicism that are NOT TRUE. Get the book, "What Catholics Really Believe" and see for yourself. Or read our Catechism on line. You'll find we agree more than disagree.

Catholics do not worship Mary, your information for that is based on bigotry, not fact.
Catholics honor Mary and the other Saints.
Mark 12:26-27 [Jesus speaking] "Have you never read in the book of Moses how God spoke to him at the burning bush, and said, 'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?' Yet is is of living men, not dead men, that He is the God" So, the saints in heaven are in reality, more "alive" than we are.
Think about it, is your aim to enter into heaven to be "dead" before the Almighty God, for all eternity? I don't think so. The way I look at it, for any friend of God's, I want as my friend too. And just as I ask my friends here on earth to intercede on my behalf, I ask my friends in Heaven to do the same. I've not worshipped anybody in either scenario.

I was born into this religion and now do not practice it. because of many of the things you have already listed, a prayer should begin as Jesus taught us to when he was teaching His apostles how to pray, so obviously these people believed in God but had lost their way in what God meant for them and Jesus said it, I didn't come for the faithful I came for the sinners.
I rejected this religion because it was not my choice, and secondly I don't believe in the whole thing of having their own commandments, I don't understand why God's commandments weren't good enough for that church.
You must remember that all religions are man made and are remnants of what to keep and what not to keep out of the laws of God, therefore all are imcomplete and are not ruled by God but by elected men amongst themselves...Jesus told his disciples that this generation shall not pass and the end will come...they were speaking of the way they were taught to teach the works and teachings of the Savior to establish amongst the gentiles and the nations churches (you must remember to the disciples, the nations did not encompass the Americas), you must keep in mind the timeline in which these people lived, and only obsorb the lesson the teachings and the knowledge to be gained by Jesus' parables, the letters were to the disciples establishing churches, and you can read among them that they had heard of disconsort amongst them because of their beliefs and the differences of them and they were implored not to do this to stay true to the Word but it happened as Jesus predicted the disciples seperated into different sects not the twelve but those that came after for many followed and came to follow the way.
But Jesus spoke the truth when he told them that their generation would not past that the end would come.

Sorry, but you are the one confused and are trying to project your own confusion on the rest of us. No one worships Mary. Why does one have to prove everything from the Bible as such when that it is not the main purpose of the Bible? It is only your opinion and interpretation of the Bible that allows you to make false statements against the Church. The law that prevents priests from marrying is a disipline only and can even be changed. There are even some exceptions where we have married priests even today. You have too many misconceptions about the Church requiring study on your part. Actually, the Church gets her infallible authority to formulate dogmas from scripture itself: Matt: XVI, verses 18-19.

Catholics do not beilieve in being born again. The bible says that we receive the Holy Spirit at the moment we trust Christ as our personal Savior and are born again. The Holy Spirit within us functions as our guide.
Among those functions is that of revealer of truth. The Spirit’s presence within us enables us to understand and interpret the Word. Jesus told His disciples “when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13). He reveals to our minds the whole counsel of God as it relates to worship, doctrine, and Christian living. He is the ultimate guide, going before, leading the way, removing obstructions, opening the understanding, and making all things plain and clear. He leads in the way we should go in all spiritual things. Without such a guide, we would be apt to fall into error.

You are entitled to your own opinion, just like everybody else out there. If you don't agree with how others conduct their business, then don't! To each it's own, you know. I'm sure that in the bible, in other words of course. I was always told by my pastor that; one will know what's right or wrong, listen to your heart. It sounds like your conquest to understand the catholic religion has gone to a new level, good luck in your quest, but ask yourself," Is it even worth a thought, or do you just want to understand?" Again I hope you understand what your after.

They still do not understand we can go directly through Jesus, when Jesus Christ went to the cross, Christ said
"It is finished" the tabernacle was torn in two from top to bottom, no more going through someone else, we can go directly to Jesus Christ now, they didn't miss a place to put a nail, Jesus didn't give half a sacrifice, no Jesus is the whole Sacrifice for our sins, I do not know why people want to change Gods word around and run things themselves, it is not right.

Thanks.
I haven't had a "why do Catholics worship Mary and the saints?" drink in ages.
Please always remember and never forget that without Mary there would be no Jesus.

Satan has, in fact, established a counterfeit religion in order to mislead the entire world, but the great Creator will soon intervene to send Jesus Christ back to the earth as "King of kings and Lord of lords" (Revelation 19:16).........http://www.lcg.org/cgi-bin/tw/booklets/print-bk.cgi?action=print_item&category=Booklets1&item=1140203084&print=yes
