Did they belong to the Australopithecus specie or Homo sapiens specie?

I mean: do you consider that they were first apes or they were the first humans?

A christian once told me that she taught Adam and Eve were apes, and that the Bible doesn't contradict this.

From my point of view it is pretty clear that Adam and Eve should live just a few thousand years ago. That would mean homo sapiens. But saying this is absurd, because then we are ignoring all the fossils showing the evolution of humans over MILLIONS of years.

To me you might as well ask me to consider that the Teletubbies really existed.

I believe that Adam and Eve are the symbolic beginning of the Homo sapien race.

Adam and Eve were original creation of God. They were not related with any pre-historic creation of God. Darwin theory is wrong. Didn't God creat plenty of species of four legged animals looking like each other with same two eyes, two ears, four leggs and similar internal organs. May be God made two legged animals that walked like Adam for experiment but He says in all Divine Revelations that Adam and Eve are His original creations and did not evolve from any pre-historic species He created before.

I believe they were the last and newest species of humans that the God Yahweh made genetic changes over eras of evolution to. It's highly probable that God created humans through His advanced knowledge of trans genetics.

The creationists strangely believe that the earth is only@6000 years old so in their lack of understanding Adam and Eve would be modern humans.

Christians don't necessarily believe in evolution, so going by their standpoint, they would be the first humans. In other words, they would coexist with apes---but not as family.

I think humans were planted here by aliens. Someday they'll come back with ship loads of inter-gallactic tourists to make fun of us.
