Strawberry Jello Pretzel salad. YUMMO I crush my pretzels in my food processor. This one goes over so well, everyone will ask you for the recipe. And don't use softened butter, melt it in the microwave, I don't use the strawberries becasue my kids prefer it smooth, so you can certainly leave them out.

INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup butter, softened
3 tablespoons sugar
2 1/2 cups crushed pretzels
1 (6 ounce) package strawberry flavored gelatin
2 cups boiling water
3 cups strawberries, chilled
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 cup white sugar
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Cream butter or margarine with thesugar. Mix in the pretzels and pat mixture into the bottom of one 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 10 to 12 minutes. Set aside to cool.
In a medium bowl, dissolve the gelatin in the boiling water and stir in the strawberries. Chill until partially thickened.
In a small bowl beat the cream cheese and white sugar together until smooth. Fold in the whipped cream. Spread mixture over the top of the cooled crust, making sure to seal the edges. Chill then pour the gelatin mixture over the cream cheese layer. Chill until firm, put in fridge and wait until it is the texture of egg whites.

ADDITIONAL
Yes, what a terrific idea. The sprinkles would look wonderful. I'm going to add them to mine as my family makes me prepare this for our Christmas dinner.
Thanks for the idea!!!!!

How about making a regular dessert and put green and red foodcoloring on it?

My mom makes this every year around Christmas and they are easy and delicious!

large pretzel rods
candy canes
white chocolate chips
green food coloring

Melt the chocolate and add some green food coloring to it. Crush the candy canes into small pieces but not too fine. Dip 3/4 of the pretzel in the melted chocolate and IMMEDIATELY coat with cany cane bits. Refridgerate for at least 30 minutes.

The red and green are very festive , plus it is so yummy. Good luck i hope you win:)
