I am not really into "herbal" cures such as "cranberry juice".. please give me a real killer "antibiotic" to get rid of that nasty thing.

Hi Nino

Here are some ideas to heal the issue

Causes of Bladder Infection
The primary cause of bladder infection is bacteria that are unable to be eliminated from the urinary tract. The problem is not due to bacteria getting in to the urinary tract, but to bacteria not being able to get out.

Menopause can increase the risk of bladder infection developing because, during menopause, levels of the hormone estrogen decline in the body, making it easier for bacteria to stick to the lining of the urinary tract.

Preventing Bladder Infection
In order to prevent bladder infection, women should do the following:

Avoid urinating after intercourse until necessary. Full urination enables the body to more effectively eliminate bacteria from the urinary tract.

Consider your choice of contraceptive. Women should avoid the use of overly large fitted diaphragms, as these prevent effective voiding of the bladder, especially after intercourse. Contraceptive sponges can cause similar problems. Better birth control options are to wear a cervical cap, or to have your partner wear a condom.

Quick Action Steps for Bladder Infection

1. Avoid urinating after intercourse until necessary. Full urination enables the body to more effectively eliminate bacteria from the urinary tract.

2. During intercourse, avoid using overly large fitted diaphragms and contraceptive sponges, which can prevent effective voiding of the bladder. It is better to wear a cervical cap, or to have your partner wear a condom.

3. Avoid all sugars, refined carbohydrates, sodas, processed foods, preservatives, artificial sweeteners (especially aspartame), corn syrup, alcohol, white bread and white flour products, pastries, and hydrogenated and trans-fatty oils, as well as all foods to which your are allergic.

4. Emphasize organic, fresh vegetables and non-citrus fruits, organic grains, as well as organic, free-range meats and poultry and wild-caught fish.

5. Drink plenty of pure, filtered water throughout the day (I drink a gallon a day).

6. Drink 16 ounces of organic, unsweetened blueberry or cranberry juice.

7. Useful nutrients for treating bladder infection include vitamin A, beta carotene, vitamin, C, zinc, and acidophilus.

8. Adding half a teaspoon of mannose powder to pure filtered water and drinking it every one to two hours can speed recovery.

9. The herbs buchu, corn silk, couch grass, goldenseal, marshmallow leaf, and uva ursi can also be helpful, as can fresh parsley.

10. To relieve symptoms, take alternating hot and cold sitz baths.
Consult with a homeopathic physician to determine an appropriate homeopathic remedy.

11. Be sure to do a colon and kidney cleanse for long term health benefits.

Best of health to you

The blood isn't unavoidably from the kidneys. it might desire to be from any area interior the urinary tract yet many times with a UTI is from the bladder. The bladder turns into aggravated from the bacteria and on occasion bleeds. Please look for scientific care out of your wellbeing care service and confirm you do a persist with up urine diagnosis to make helpful all the blood is long gone after scientific care (even the blood you are able to no longer see with the bare eye) as this would sign something different than a UTI. It does no longer mean you will go through everlasting kidney injury, kidney failure, OR which you would be on dialysis.

You are playing with fire. A UTI untreated or not treated correctly can and will effect your kidneys. Some will tell you to drink cranberry juice, this is not a cure and for some can do more harm then good. If you cannot see a doctor because of insurance/money at least go to a clinic. I have chronic bladder issues - Chronic Cystitis and stage one kidney failure - nothing to fool with. In the mean time avoid all acidic foods and drinks.

You do need antibiotics and treatment. She is right, this can go from and easy cure to something very serious if not treated. And can become nearly debilitating with the pain. Do drink a lot of fluids. My dr actually said coffee is a good idea. But see a dr one way or the other. Besides, if u havent' seen a dr you can't be sure it's a uti. Either way GO TO A DR!

Ummmm, do you HAVE access to any antibiotics?? I don't know of any that you can get without talking to a doctor or PA?

(not trying to be rude...)

If you need just the name of one, there are a few, but, alot of times, it depends on the type of UTI--and if it is the first one in a while, second one within 2 months, if it is recurrent, ect.

but, some antibiotic names are:
amoxicillin
nitrofurantoin
trimethoprim
combination of trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole

but, they really need to check to make sure it is lower--just bladder, and not affecting upper--kidneys.

hopefully, this gave you the answer you were looking for, and I wasnt trying to be rude or mean.

Try cranberry juice or a cranberry supplement. Otherwise, taking a warm bath helps. As far as antibiotics, Cipro helps.

Ok....then scratch the cranberry juice and go for the Cipro. You should feel relief almost immediately.

There is an over the counter medication called Azo. It helps relieve some of the pain and discomfort. Take that drink lots of water and cranberry juice. Unfortunately I've been prone to UTI's myself so i know what to do.

if you take care of it in time you should be fine.
go to the store and get a gallon of cranberry juice and drink the whole thing today. it will flush out all of the impurities. if you don't take care of it asap it can and probably will cause a kidney infection at which point you will HAVE to go to a doctor to get some antibiotics.
