Not literally crapped on. A couple years ago, while I was dating a Jewish guy, we rode around the city and gave out sandwiches to homeless people. One guy shouted at me to shove the sandwich "up my @ss". I was never the same again...

The problem wasn't with you but with the other person. Why he would say that to you defies description, unless he was under the influence of something.

There was one time, some time ago, when we were in line at a fast food place. Someone else in line dropped a lot of change on the floor, and my little sister picked up some of it. When she tried to give it back or put it on the counter, the woman yelled at her instead. Mom tried to comfort both of us by saying "she probably misunderstood" or words to that effect. Sadly, there are some people who would gripe if there wasn't anything to gripe about!

So don't let one bad encounter keep you from doing all the good that you can. Yes, you can risk getting "cr@pped on", as you say, but there are more who would be grateful than those who think the world owes them something.

~~~ PM ,,,, "Sticks and Stones, etc, etc, "
Also please be aware that no Act of Kindess, or more accurately Altruism, is ever wasted. EVERYone is not going to appreciate you. Accept this or channel your Compassion of Others towards those who are grateful. However to be a true Altruist one cannot put Qualifiers on your charity as those who are ungrateful are actually more "needy" than others, if you get my drift. Personally, I practice Anonymous Altruism and require no response or feedback from my actions. It works for me. Your emphasis should be focused on Your Giving without any concern for Receiving(thanks) ~ Namaste`
Even Jesus himself was rebuked and not accepted by many, even though they saw His miracles in person, so don't let one man destroy the faith you have in doing Gods work by helping those in need. God is pleased when we become like a servant and help those that need it. He will give a just reward to those that follow His examples.
Jesus said in Luke 6
27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, 28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. 29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other
