I would rather be known as a good person instead of a good catholic. I believe that God would forgive me for not being the perfect catholic if I am a good person.

A good Christian person.
Frankly I would think for me both would be the same because even if someone doesn't know I am a Christian, they might say I am a good person and this would show that I am living my life in a Christian manner. Examples would be, putting someone else before me, attending to those who are less fortunate, being an encourager (even when I don't feel like it sometimes), being just genuine and kind.
These are all attributes of someone who would be a good Christian AND a good person.

Christian., because our bible tells us that friendship with the world is enmity with God. We are to be in complete discipline of our selves and have a hold on our sinful nature. The world seems to want to satisfy their cravings for money, power and sexuality. As the verse says,"The Lord is my Shepard, I shall not want," The first is the greatest the second is the beginning of what could lead to sin. When the want for anything has a greater importance than our Lord then we have commit-ed idolatry. Money is not the rout of all evil it is the want that captures our heart and minds away from God.

I would rather be known as a good person, because this reflects my actions towards *everyone*. Whether or not I'm a good Satanist is between me and my deity. If I'm a good person, this suggests that I'm a good mother, a good (soon-to-be) wife, and a good friend.

Most god-believers will define a good religionist as a good person. For example: If I am a good christian, I am a good person.

Also, they think that there is no such thing as a bad religionist, because all people who claim that religion who behave poorly are not true believers.

Go figure.

Neither. I'd rather *be* a good person than be known for it.

The reason should be self evident. If I *am* a good person then whether or not I'm known for it is irrelevant. If I try to make the world a better place to live, and the world is better for me being in it, who cares what I'm known for?

A good person and a good Sikh woman. I have pasted my profile here for you:

A Scottish Sikh of Indian descent. I am 27 years of age. I am a very fair individual and I always respect others and I will always expect to be treated fairly with respect. Please endeavour to respect my views and I will always endeavour to respect yours. However, I will not take kindly to slanderous and malicious comments and will always try to step-in and try my best to give a more balanced viewpoint - assert myself, where appropriate.

I hope that you find my comments / questions to be informative, constructive and of equity. If you think not, this was not my intention and welcome all constructive comments, where applicable.

I am on a life's journey, of which learning will never be complete. I believe life is about learning and to improve oneself at all points in life. Therefore, I will take on your points on board and re-evalutate, where applicable.

Thanking you for your assistance and co-operation.

A good Christian because I want to to be know that I lived to serve my Savior, Jesus. Also, by following the teachings of Jesus I am following many of the moral standards that society uses to define a good person ao by being a good Christian I am really being a good person too.

A good person, always have a good conscience and a good conscience comes from the religion, the spiritual reverence and fear one has for the GOD. Hence I would say I want to be a good Jehovah's Witness which will make me a good person.

I want to be known as a good person, for different people have different ideas of what a "good Christian" is.
