I have Muslim friends and I never heard of that being an issue.

The Spanish love to pretend that their country wasn't really controlled by West African Muslims for 700 years.

Ironically, the bulk of literature on Greek and Roman mythology probably would have been lost forever if it wasn't for Muslim scholars categorizing it. Catholics were burning those books when they had time off from persecuting Jews and suppressing scientific knowledge of the solar system. Name any group of people who ever had any political power at any time and they had ruthless fanatics sometime in their history.

I don't mean insult anyone in particular. My ancestory is English--the English were some of the most brutal people on the planet and they had a remarkable way of acting very dignified about it.

it is an exceedingly super question. Atheism actually potential 'devoid of god' and because maximum human acts of devastation have been interior the call of one god or yet another, this might recommend that they are much less risky than those with a faith. in case you think of approximately it in a greater precis way, atheism promotes unfastened thinking and the choice to have faith what you prefer devoid of the catch 22 situation of somebody telling you what's right devoid of any data. in this way, many faiths actual sell lack of information over expertise. (The reasoning at the back of this lays with early society human beings attempting to variety a achievable society that purposes nicely at the same time. faith is an exceedingly helpful thank you to try this, for this reason why there are such a number of of similarities between them). So reckoning on what you recommend by using harm, in early human society atheism would have been greater unfavourable to the progression of the human race yet in modern cases (the final one hundred fifty years or so) faith is dropping its place in modern society.

Not sure of Muslims in Britain and if they feel this way. I'm interested in this because even though I'm American and non-religious, I have English ancestry. I find it cool really, since I have pagan leanings.

Since you're saying "slightly annoyed" I would say many would. Sure, they won't be equally annoyed. Those who might be the most annoyed are Abu Hamza Almasri & his fanatical followers!
