I always go 25%. This covers the cost of buying and going to pick it up at the supplier. Wholesale plus 25% brings it close to what a customer can get it retail for. Many customers want to buy their own materials, but since they tend to buy "cheap stuff" I let them know that I will not provide a warranty on these products.

you talking supplies ...as in supplies,,,wire pvc or are you thinkin of doing it your self ...the actual wiring and plumbing of a pool isnt as easy as it looks and water and electricity can kill if not done right and as for plumbing...no room for error there either cuz its UNDER the pool....and if not correct will cost big time to fix...thats the reason you need to have these things done by people who know the work,,,,they already have the mark up in their bids....remember the inspectors are going to see if its up to code....touchy stuff for the do it yourselfer...save yourself some headeach and make your mark up on something else
