If I make 30k a year, how much spending money does that actually give me per month after taxes? thanks for the help!

Here are the numbers from http://www.paycheckcity.com assuming that you claim 1 withholding allowance on your Form W-4.

Monthly Gross Pay $2,500.00
Federal Withholding $268.25
Social Security $155.00
Medicare $36.25
Wisconsin $136.42

Net Pay $1,904.08

As a rough estimate, take 1/3 off for taxes, insurance, etc. That would leave you with $20,000 which is $1,666 per month or $417 per week.

Way too many variables to determine an answer. What state you live in, how many dependents you are claiming, and what your marital status is - all these would factor in.
