when people ask questions on why christians do this and why atheists do that. basically persecuting each other. when the hard core truth about it is there is bad and good apples in each category. im catholic, but to not be a hypocrit i will add that im not a perfect person, i try not to judge. then why does so many christians(catholic, method., baptis., etc) judge others (not all of course), and why do so many atheists(not all) care about what christians do if they dont believe? im not trying to be a smart a** about this question, i really dont get it.

ode to the damned- i know what persecute means. i used that because when some people ask questions they say some things to start an arguement rather a debate. in other words " to p*** people off", that is what i dont get. do i need to pull up dictionary.com for you?
big solly- i agree with you science should stay science, and not into a sunday school class. for those who want to express religous thought over it, many of them have a choice with a new class they are bringing into school systems.
smirk- could you explain more? i understand somewhat, but i would like an example so i can further understand your answer.

:) - REREAD THE QUESTION! WHAT YOU JUST EXPLAINED GAVE PROOF TO THE QUESTION I AM ASKING! I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE SAYING BUT THE QUESTION IS ON WHY PEOPLE GET MAD OVER THE SITUATION, LIKE THE SITUATION GOING ON WHERE EVER YOU ARE FROM. IM SORRY FOR WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU, BUT YOUR ACTING VERY IGNORANT.

"I don't understand when people ask questions on why Christians do this..."
I'll tell you why.
My country was torn apart because Catholics, Orthodox and Muslims couldn't find the way to deal with each other believes. Now, here I am, 600 km from home, never to return again. Last week I was at my grandfather's and my uncle's funeral - they were killed in that war 15 years ago but their remains have been exhumed from the mass grave and identified by DNA analysis just recently.
If religious people would just mind their own business I wouldn't have anything to say. But since so many ones are dieing because of what you believe in, I SURE HAVE ONE QUESTION TO ASK - What the f*** is wrong with you?
I don't know what created us or out of what we came from, but if there is no such thing as evolution and this happens to be our full human potential than let us all burn in hell.

When you have so many unexplained aspects of what you believe, and someone challenges that belief, then it's only natural to become threatened and lash out at those that do not believe. I first experienced this in grade school when I told someone I didn't believe in God and then about six or seven people turned it into a debate and a number of questions of my intelligence were brought up in a not-so-elegant manner.
It's just the way people are... opinionated and judgmental.

I think that part of the problem is the aggressiveness of some allegedly Christian organizations. I also believe that the hypocrisy of major televangelists and the intolerance of extremists make it difficult for many non-believers to think that following the teachings of Christ will lead to anything good at all. It can be very difficult to tell one Christian group from another. When we have extremists on this site telling many folks they will be doomed to hell in the after-life, it is perfectly natural that many people will respond by asking how the accusers are any better.

Yeah, I hear ya. It's annoying because generally a religion should bring peace, teach to be friendly and all those good things, and yet it can be one of the biggest sources of contention, anger, and arguments.
I'm Mormon, and I know a lot of people probably think I'm stupid or wrong for that, but I really don't understand why they care... if they aren't the one that is 'stupid, or wrong' why do they care?
Especially on a place like this, when we don't even really know eachother.
I don't get it either.
I have learned to just get a laugh out of those people.

Your question has validity and i haven't seen one of this nature that is asked with such sincerety.
I don't understand also why people bash each other for their beliefs because people can't help what they believe or don't. People are baptized into most religions from birth as in Catholism, where Jesus evoked us to wait for the age of reason to be baptized, He was baptized at 30 signaling the start of his ministry if you want to call it.
How can a baby change his/her life around and devote to God when they are infants. The church did this so the children of Catholics would be also Catholics not by choice but by tradition. I too was baptized into this religion, I studied and realized that many things we followed in this religion did not come from God's laws or guidelines for us.
I also discovered that most people go to church on Sunday not for God or for themselves but for appearances' sake. what will the neighbors think if we don't go to church and so on, some nosy bodies will even mention it to you in the grocery store making themselves feal good because of course they were there and you weren't.
Reading the Bible for myself and asking that the truth thereof be shown to me has really helped me to understand our role here. It is to help one another, to recognize that we have all sinned (fell short of the glory of God) because we are only human we do not have the strength alone to overcome many temptations, and we do love our life here on earth, this is why we don't remember, Jesus always was with His Father from the beginning of time therefore He remembered what His Father's house was like because He was conceived of the Holy Spirit through Immaculate conception.
Atheists not all, are people too and curious as to what makes us believe in a being we cannot see. I don't think it is because they want to be converted and some of them do think that we should all be locked up for believing in a deity that we cannot see.
Every person is different and what it means to be a christian to some is so far from what I believe a christian shoould be, but we are not to judge others because you never know if by your christian actions you may help someone come to Jesus and so on. Peace be with you you've earned a star for this question.

I agree with you. Jeff Hardy is entertaining and loves his fans and does lots of stuff for us. You mentioned the 30 foot flip off of a ladder, that is typical Jeff. Jeff is one of my favorites and you never quite know what he is going to do next. You can be sure it will have you on the edge of your seat cheering... Tonight at No Way Out he did a Swanton Bomb off the top of the Elimination Capsule, it was amazing.

You are making the mistake of associating "questioning the other side" with "attacking the other side."
I don't feel attacked until my children are taught by the public school that their science book is full of lies. I nipped that one in the bud, thank you very much, and now she's officially been warned.
I'm fine with the rest of you.

It just the way some people are, judgemental. There are people like that everywhere, in every belief. Its what they need to work on. We each have our struggles and that may be theirs.
