I have always heard that the "proper" thing to do was hand write the addresses, but I have seen some with printed address labels.

There are no rules of how to do things so don't even worry about it. Weddings aren't like school where you get a detention for not following the rules.

Do you like handwritten over printed? Then do it that way. Use hot pink paper if you want to! Its your and your fiance's wedding...do it however you both like it. Forget about how everyone else does things.

It is supposed to be hand-printed, however, I think some fonts available on computers are probably acceptable - the script ones.

You are supposed to hand write everything and spell everything out. For example, instead of St. you should put street, and instead of FL for the state, you should spell out Florida.
The website I put below has so much info about planning for your wedding.
