Just because you are asking for a good thing doesn't mean you will get it.
Think this through. Suppose you were asking for something good like a person to fall in love with and marry. Makes sense that God should give you this, right? Why not? Well, there could be hundreds of reasons unknown to you why He does not answer this prayer.
Another example. Suppose I prayed to win the lottery so that I might use all the money to build up the Church and contribute to charities. Another good prayer, certainly. But there could be any number of reasons why God doesn't grant it.
People tend to think that asking for a spouse or a child of their own or something like that is a more "noble" request and should be answered by God. They tend to view asking for material things as "shallow."
And yet, anything we ask for might not be in our best interests and it might not be part of God's plan and His reasons are His alone.
Could be that a person isn't ready for marriage.
Could be that God wants a couple to adopt.
Could be that God knows money would corrupt us and not be put to good use as we planned.
Just keep having faith, as you always have. Instead of asking why God doesn't give you what you ask for, ask instead what you can give to Him.

a) pray according to God's will. [1john 5:14-15]
b) be settled in your heart and mind that God has already said "yes" to it. [1corinth.1:20]
A. ask and you shall receive.
S. seek and you shall find.
K. knock and it shall be opened unto you.
[matt.7:7-8]
c) dont pay any attention to what you see, or dont see [2corinth.4:18]
d) persevere in joy [jms 1:2-4]; [john 16:23-24]
there are a number of things that could delay the fulfillment.
gal.6:9 once you've prayed, dont give up. wondering why God hasnt answered yet, is wavering - doubt. [jms 1:6]
phil.4:6-7 when you pray, be thankful and continue to be thankful in reminding God about it.
2corinth.9:7-11 be a cheerful giver. when you give, let that giving represent a memorial concerning what you asked for. [ps.112:4-6]; [acts 10:2, 4]

Evidently the answer is "no" or "not right now".
Paul had a "thorn in the flesh" that he asked be removed - three times.
2Corinthians 12:8-9
8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
It's OK to ask but, meanwhile, be blessed in the knowledge that the Lord has the better plan and wants what is best for you.
Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NIV)
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
God bless.

God answers our prayers, only it may not be in the form that we recognize or deem appropriate... Ask God to bless you with good decision making and seeking out the sources to help you help him answer your prayers.... Don't leave it all up to him, show him that you are willing to make sacrifices, Help others, be kind, etc,, then your prayers will get the attention you feel they so desperately need, it's give and take, God blesses those who help others, no matter how or what, The Lord helps those who help themselves... Peace

Some of our prayers incorporate personal sense or we are telling God that we are "special" enough to receive for various reasons, but God is already God, infinite Mind, and there is no place for personal justification to enter into a prayer. It boils down to an unselfed love whereby if we pray for good, it comes, but as we pray for self, it can't come, for that human self is a myth.

Gos has already given you wisdom, what we understand is that it may be a good thing, it may be great but it may not be what God wants for you, maybe not now or maybe it will never happen. Maybe it will. You have shown patience, you have shown fith, you have shown good things. Keep the faith and I pray that if it is in His will it will be done. Love in Christ

I`m very glad to read yours words.
I`m in a different situation and I want to tell you that God listen my prayers. Up to now.
So, if He hear me, befor fasting, before my "methanoia", before to change my life to His demands, I want to assure that HE hear you.
Of course, if He don`t anser are maybe two possibilities:
1. It is answer you but He want that you to do not be able to see that answers, until a time period.
2. Maybe you need other things. Maybe what you want it will change your life in bad, from theological point of view.

God has patience, his time is not our time, but he is always on time. Perhaps it's not the right time, God knows what you need. I know what you mean as well...I am waiting for that one prayer too.
Perhaps He answer it another time in the pass, but it didn't work out for you. So God would have to answer it again.... perhaps God is taking his time to make sure this time you're aware of this..... He will answer you again.... I am sure as sure as I know Him.

He may be answering you in the same way he answered St. Paul: "My grace is sufficient for you." (2 Corinthians 12:9)
