Is Atheism a religion?

2007-12-01 02:59:53 · update #1

And how well do you know my Jesus, Bete?

Infinity, that's what I'm trying to find out. Are you spiritual? Seems Athiests are so hateful on here you can't really LEARN anything from them.

And your point is??? I know I'm not the savior of the world, yet I try to understand it. I know I need alone time, doesn't everyone? Honesty is the clue here. and I DO love Jesus.

Looks like top contributors are there for a reason. They need something useless to do.

OK, to spell it out for you...A hospital is NOT just a place for 'sick' people. It is a place of healing, birth, studies, Lab work, and in some cases, to die. Doctors and nurses are there to do their job, heal the sick, deliver babies...and, in some cases, to walk through death with those who will not make it.

both one an the same. and that is the fact. all current religions can claim no more validity than the ones that were before it.
maybe we are looking to enlighten just one person to stop the insanity. maybe we will convince one zealot to relax a bit and be what his religion says he/she should be. maybe we are tired of religion controlling the world affairs and direction. maybe we hope to change a few minds and will hopefully make the world end like it should end.... by the sun growing into a red giant like it will in millions of years. not wiping it out by our own doing and claiming its a prophecy. we are tired of the fear laced control that it has on 90% of this worlds population.
i want a calmer world. i want less war waged by the different factions of religion that justify their war with their definition of right or wrong... or for that matter what they view as ...evil. i want to see people stop justifing their actions of pain against one another in the name of god and then "repent" their actions easily away on sunday.
i want peace...
know god.. know peace?......no god... no peace?.....
which one is it?.. certainly seems the war going on is at its base......our god against yours kind of mentality....where is the peace?
thats why we are here.... i try not to be angry..... but we have done something you have not...we have asked questions. i use to believe..... but i started asking questions......ones... that cannot be answered by... you have to believe... or... you just have to have faith.

Why are you in the R/S section? The answers you've given show that you know nothing of the Jesus you claim to love.

Edit: this is from your own bio---- hmmm. This is difficult. I love Jesus, that I know. I am my own person. I am a helper, and try to fix the world's problems, but I don't try too hard, cause I know I'm not the Savior of the world. I am an adventurer, and love being around people, but not for long..I need my alone time. I am very much a family person. I have eclectic interests. That's pretty much it.

Most atheists and agnostics find that cults and religions are nefariously interfering in their spiritual and social lives, so yes this section is perfectly legitimate for the former.

Heck, even apes and elephants have spiritual lives — the only thing that is preventing them to participate to R&S are their lack of human grammatical and synthaxic skills.

> If you aren't religious or spiritual, why are you in the R&S site?

We're the reality check that keeps the US from decending hopelessly into a theocratic state where a bear can be a bear without the approval of the church.

Many come to honestly answer questions sharing their point of view. Others are simply trolls that are rude and give every Christan answer the thumbs down.

As I imagine this is directed at Atheists, who says Atheists aren't spiritual?

"But this is a hospital! It is a place for sick people!
Why are there doctors and nurses here? They are not sick!"

Because we are trying to prtect people from behaviour such as death threats for naming teddy bears. Religious people are dangerous and need careful supervision.

It doesn't say "Religion & Spirtuality section, believers only", now does it?

Atheism is a valid topic of discussion here.
