My cousins husband commited suicide wed. night. She has two boys 6 and 3. They need help for christmas. The father was real depressed and in my opinion very selfish. They do not get insurance benefits because it was a suicide, and All the money they saved for christmas now has to be used for funeral expensise. It is sad enough that they have to cremate him becuase that is all they can afford, and quite frankly both familys are paycheck to paycheck people and will not be able to do much as they are already helping with the left over expenses of the funeral. We have one charity (church) that has offered to help to some extent but most have already been assigned to others in the community which i might add is a very small poor community, so whatever donations they do get are very few. some people here suicide and don't even call back. i relize suicide is very unforgivable and selfish but it is not the family's fault. any one would like to help or know help, i have/will give proof is real

This is so sad, especially at Christmas. I live in a funeral home and have seen many families faced with the same situation being unable to pay the expenses. Please email me the information you have on this family, and I will get in touch with them. In the meantime, I will be praying for them, that the Lord hold them close to Him during this time. God bless you!!!

Lovingly,
Virginia

Suicide is not really unforgivable and selfish. The person was suffering from mental illness if they believed it was their only option, and the family is certainly not to blame. Anyway, the kids don't need a huge Christmas. Try dollar store toys and decorations. They should learn that it is not about how much you have, but who you spend it with. They are already going to be suffering a bit (especially the 6 year odl being a little older), so trying to cover it up with tons of presents and materials things would be a little pathetic.

Try to contact the local Fire Dept or Police Dept ...... this time of year alot of agencies sponcer families who are in her situation.

You may alos be able to set up a donation fund at a local bank so funds can be deposited for the family.

You have already tried the church ..... just keep on trying .....

I wish you and her the best .....

It will get better in time.

She should be able to get Social Security for the children.
Also, she should check with the Department of Social Services to apply for help (food stamps, medical, counseling)and her children's school. They usually have progams like Toys for Tots, that might be able to help her.
Maybe next time you call for help, just say an untimely death, no one needs to know that it was a suicide.
Good luck with finding help

I am sorry for your loss
