If I have a 58mm lense can I use all 58mm filters? Or I have to check compatibility? There are (for instance) a 58mm CANON and a 58mm Nikon with different threads?

Threads are the same on all lenses - only the diameter is important.
Maybe some really old lenses have odd threads

All threads of the filters are standard throughout the makes of lens. No need for a compatibility check.
