doesn't work that way.. you signed a contract and you are obligated to fulfill that contract, you can't just tell your boss you want out. It won't happen.

She did actually say that it takes 3-6 months to process the paperwork. I think that is about right, but I'm not sure because the only people I know who got out either retired, were out on disability or had completed their committment. I'm not sure how long you've been in, but you may want to reconsider completing your committment. It will make things easier for you when you get out.

What branch (yes this does make a difference).

What is the reason? I'm asking because it's different processing times. Some can be approved at base level which is faster and some have to be sent all the way up.

Just because is not a reason.

How long? With all the military has to do, processing a voluntary release, on a scale of 1 to10, rates about a zero priority. They'll get around to it when they get around to it.

Yeah..good luck with that..you signed a contract and they don't just let you walk away because you just don't want to do it anymore.

Ohh,,,are you being nasty this morning or what... The answer is that it can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months to do all the paperwork for your release. Geez....what an ***!
