You will need a Win98 boot disk. This is a floppy disk. If you don't have you you can download one from "Bootdisk.com

Enter the BIOS of you computer and make sure that the "floppy" drive is listed to boot before the hard drive. Now insert the floppy into drive "A" and the Win98 CD into the CD drive and restart the system. The system will boot from the floppy and ask you to make one of three choices:

1. Start Window 98 Setup from CD-ROM
2. Start computer with CD-ROM support
3. Start computer without CD_ROM support.

If you wish to do a "clean" install, ie, wipe the drive and reformat, then choose (3).

This will bring up an "A" prompt. At the prompt, type "fdisk" without the qoutes and hit enter. Now you will want to remove the primary DOS partition.
Next you will want to create a new primary DOS partition. You will then be prompted to restart your system. When it restats, you will again be give 3 choices, this time choose (1) and then just follow the standard Windows installation. When Windows asks to "format" the drive, let it. Depending on how fast this system is, the installation could take up to an hour.
