You don't mention which version.
Normally:
Type your Excel spreadsheet
select your headings and data only
click Insert
The Chart Wizard displays and it is very easy to follow.

its no longer annoying... if your documents is well prepared (like x values in one column then a y1 column a y2 column etc precise next to it) you could purely spotlight the whole block and click insert... chart... then choose on your type and violla! if your documents isn't so sparkling you could circulate insert... chart... and upload an information set or dissimilar sequence manually. it is incredibly self explanatory while you're prepared to play around with it good success
