Wow !! Tough one to answer.

Favorite fly-rod + reel has to be my 8' Phillipson Powr-Pakt
split cane rod w/ a Hardy Princess reel - if you've ever had a Princess, they make the most beautiful sound when line is being taken out. Takes one back to the "Golden Age"
when using this set-up.

My favorite is a Diawa 2500 Regal XL Spinning reel on a 6 1/2' Medium Action Ugly Stick. I know a lot of people like a heavier action rod, but I get plenty of power from the medium action and still have good sensitivity.

My favorite rod and reel is my pinnacle power tip pro rod and my reel is a sigma shakspeare. it is spooled with 10 pound line with 140 yards on it. I've took it in saltwater so many times it should have been done with 5 years ago. I usually fish in freshwater. I catch catfish and bass on this rod and reel. It is a very grreat rod

Hello. I fly fish most of the time so i own a lot of flyrods. My forvorite flyrod is a Heritage 3 wt. There aren't really big fish where i live. A 5 pound bass would be considered a big fish so i like light tackle.A 3wt. is perfect for panfish and i have fun catching anything on this rod. The flyreel is also a Heritage and is a ultra light to for the 3 wt. line it holds. So pending how big the fish are where you live buy the right size tackle for your area, you'll have a blast fighting your fish.

Thank you:
Leadwing.

My favorite be an old Fenwick 8'6 fiberglass steelhead rod that be bout' 40 yrs old, combined with an oldie but goodie 5500C Ambassador level-wind (baitcastier) reel. Sounds a little "cavemanish", but that relic has tagged more fish then the new tech., rigs I own annnnnd there be a lot of them ;)...

Am totally sure that ppl readin' this are shudderin' at the thought of FIBERGLASS, but what can I say, "she's still alive and catchin' "...

I pared up an Abu 6500 on a an 8' Lamiglas GBL961L that I built. Great light weight combo for 12-15# line. Use for inshore saltwater, light surf, and shore fishing for strippers. Very versatile.

My fav combo is my Shimano Chronarch on a 6'6" MH G-Loomis GLX worm rod. It's so sensitive. If a bass even breathes on my bait, I feel it.
