The value of one breath is self-evident...in fact, there is only one breath in the multiverse, and we all are folded into it. (As I write this, I am taking wonderful deep breaths, assessing their value.) Its value is to waken us into the Now, the only moment that exists, where we are merged in oneness. Its best use is to evoke presence and attention to All That Is, our Source. I am Sirius

Basically the breath brings oxigen to the brain and the whole body. According to your physical and / or mental activityes and your emotions - your way of breating changes and so the benefit for the body and mind also changes. Some people practice breathing exercises in order to refresth their body and mind and to gain a good state of being.
This is like taking a medicine.

The best way to constantly and durable gain a good health for the body, mind and soul is to change from within - that is to change your thinking and feelings, your awareness, ect. for the better. Then the breath will be such that will always allow optimal transfer of energy in the body, giving you naturally a state of harmony.
This is being healthy.

No matter how sweet the medicine can be, one would, ofcourse, prefer to be healthy enough not to need it.

A proper breathing is to bring more oxygen to the blood and to the brain, and to control Prana or the vital life energy. It is the fundamental fountainhead of a breathing exercise called 'Pranayama'. Utilizing the breath in the appropriate manner can improve your blood pressure, heart function, and energy. Also the breath should be slow and easy, and not hasty. The patternof rest between inhaling and exhaling is important in that this balances the energies inside us.

Well, Sirius pretty much said it perfectly.....thanks Sirius. When we came into the earth plane to incarnate, we went from light being to human being. Light beings breathe on the pulse of the universe...multiverse as Sirius said.....and all folds into the one, breathing and energised together in the one. But to inhabit a physical body, blood, and bones, and cells require oxygenated energy to exist. To exist as human the lightest touch is required.......breath. To breathe, in this earth plane, to inhale, to exhale, to open to life, means to exist. Without breath, you would exist on another plane.....another realm. We each chose to come. We each have our way or path. The breath is essential to this. One breath? It means you are alive in this moment. One breath can mean the difference between asleep and awake, spiritually, whilst in a body. But it all depend on you to be there for it. (breathes)

It probably depends on whose breath it is as far as mankind is concerned but God put His breath into Adam, which made him one in spirit with Him.
