I mean, he knew that Satan (formerly Lucifer), would eventually rebel, and deceive mankind. And on top of all that, he would have send his son to die a slow and painful death on a cross to save us. And then to make things more difficult, mankind would have to accept Christ and follow in his footsteps (which is extremely difficult), in order to actually make it to Heaven. So basically one must surrender his life, and give up most of his free time in order to be saved, thus making him/her an irritable, lonely individual with no time for fun, and no way of knowing when he will be taken "home" to Heaven. And on top of that, he/she will have to spend time in Heaven battling the forces of darkness and evil, as Heaven is never described as a celestial retirement home.

And did I forget to mention that people are basically forced to choose between enjoying their own life, and burning in Hell for all eternity, or go God's way, and be a miserable, persecuted schmuck for the rest of his/her existence on Earth? Whjy did God even bother? Does he really get that lonely? I mean he's not even a human...
he's a spirit.

I don't think God KNOWS the future. I think that God makes us who we are and it's up to us to decide our fate or future. If God KNEW a certain person will kill an innocent child, that person wouldn't be existing in our world. We determine our own choices in life!

He wanted something in his image.
Maybe He can 'see' the future, but He most likely just says when certain things happen, the rapture for example. He didn't expect, once Noah and his sons and there wives were the only people left, that any more bad could come from eight holy people. Like it is now. Of course He would probably know when adultery and such, but He probably can't get through to some people, mostly ignorant people. Actually, do they really describe heaven as a battlefield, or a retirement place or anything other than Paradise?
I don't know, this question may be impossible to answer. That's just my two cents.

I have an idea... Maybe God CAN see the future but he chooses NOT to see it. Wouldn't it be pretty boring if you knew exactly what was going to happen for the rest of your life? I think it's like an option he can either turn on or off if he wants. One could also argue why did Satan rebel in the first place, doesn;t God create PERFECT things?

FREE WILL of course! The good thing about Christianity and Its God that has impressed me the most is the concept of " free will ". God does'nt force upon His creation any kind of rigid rules, as far as I understand, but does give guidelines like the Commandments, to kind of steer Mankind towards "GOOD" and a contented life but also allows him to choose his way of messing up his life for which He sent his His son to suffer in their stead. Giving us a chance to experience LIFE and perhaps to get people like Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Florence Nightingale to get out of the human limitations of materialistic desires that binds us to emerge as selfless people who can rise above all. And a person who eventually gets to Heaven needs no tests and no battles. If Hell exists with the "consent" of God, Heaven does too but with no complications that Hell offers! As a matter of fact, there can be no sensation of happiness without the measure of pain or sadness. One needs to go through pain to really experience pleasure. Otherwise, all happiness would just be a plateau of continuous ennui.

Impossible to answer, because no human can understand the mind of God. He is the Almighty, He knows what He is doing, and He has reason why He does what He does.

he created mankind for us.

you may be puzzled by the answer.
why would god want to send us into evil and pain? how could that possibly be for us?
but it is so that we can learn, grow, and evolve. so we can say we experienced life.
