The "God" I expect you are are thinking of does not exist but is is reasonable to suppose that there is some sort of supreme force that set in motion the formation of the universe, the galaxies, the stars, the satelites which go round them and the conditions both physical and chemical by which life came into existence on this particular satelite and by which in continues in it's many forms. What that force is and what will be the final result nobody knows or can, I suspect, every know. So all those people who tell you that they do know and that they know what this supreme being it thinking ( I mean how arrogant can you get) are telling you a load of nonsense so got on living your life to the best of your ability. Try not to harm anyone and do good when you can.

We created gods when we didn't know better (noticed how gods and prophets all seem to have been created in mankind's image?).

Gods and prophets have been used successfully by mankind against mankind as control & manipulation tools. The sooner we realize this, the sooner we'll be free.

if you read the bible

in geniuses

it talks about god creating all things

the fishes, and the cattle , herb's , grass and all living things

but there was no one to till the land and that originally we where created. to worship god and have dominion over all
living things.

how ever you purpose in that plan is unique to you, and you have to get to the place where you are willing to surrender yourself to do his purpose for you.

But in everything you do glorify god

if you are a student be the best student you can be

if working be the best at you job as you can be and glorify God

according to religion its to 'test us'. but they also claim God is peaceful and loving. how could a peaceful and loving God create a world knowing that their would be pedophiles, terrorists, murderers, war, poverty and all sorts of other suffering.

I don't know, seems so that we could all hate each other's guts and discriminate against each other. Otherwise he would have created all of us being exactly the same (on the outside and on the inside).

Can you tell I'm feeling very down about humanity today?

If some type of creator "being" actually exists this is the only plausible answer:

"Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. Fellow creators the creator seeks, those who write new values in new tables. Companions the creator seeks, and fellow harvesters, for everything around him is ripe for the harvest"
- Friedrich Nietzsche, Thus spoke Zarathustra

Edit
Those "to glorify him" answers are sick at best.

Frankly, only God knows. However there are many speculations as to His reasons. These speculations becomes the ground for a multiplicity of religious movements.
