Do you believe in the "it must be true because so many people can't be wrong" argument?

Hmm...Let's put it to use.

So many people say that Bernie is a wonderful guy. BUT behind closed doors, Bernie likes to sexually assault women.

But so many people say that Bernie is a wonderful guy SO "so many people can't be wrong."

The "Bernie story" is JUST A SCENARIO to prove my POINT.

This is not a religious question and this question was not meant to question religion. If you believe in something for your OWN REASONS then that is a valid argument.

Postmodern philosophy states that 'If something's true for you, then it's true' (even if your neighbor says it's false and that exactly the opposite is true - because that's how it is for him.)

We've now moved away from confidence in the majority opinion to the individual's experience of truth as being paramount. As witnessed here on Yahoo!?!?

Both ideas are absurd and dangerous.

You can download Battleship Game for free here: http://bit.ly/ZYumHp

no surveys, no scams, just the full game!
In this version of Battleship the players can choose three modes like mission, death-match and free hunt. You can choose which side you want to fight with and the graphics of the game is very realistic.
It's a must have game.

Yeah, that is a wonderful misconception. There were a few experiments in comformity that showed that people were willing to go with the herd on obviously wrong answers, mistrusting their own observations, based upon majority rule. Do I even need to bring up slavery?

Why you trying to dis Bernie? If Bernie really was that bad, you think Rudy would be standing up for him?

A large majority of people once thought slavery was perfectly acceptable, too.
It's ridiculously easy to convince large numbers of people of just about anything, no matter how preposterous. Number of adherents should never be considered proof of the validity of an idea.

No I do not believe in that train of thought at all. If you are trying to apply it to Christianity I don't believe in Christ because SO many others do, I believe because I have studied and learned for myself. As for the nice guy next door, let's remember the BTK serial killer didn't he look like just the nicest guy??? Believe everything you see, half of what you read, and none of what you hear.

As your 2 answerers here previously me (Muhammad and Khalil Ullah) have talked approximately, a real Muslim could could kill the infidels (all and sundry against them). because of the fact of this I take people who say they're Christian or Muslim (or maybe if faith) with a grain of salt... because of the fact to truly BE a practicioner of Christianity or Islam maximum of those human beings could could be residing an fullyyt distinctive existence type. maximum of them could desire to in no way truly stay as Christ did and truly stay their perception to its fullest. And maximum "Muslims" could desire to in no way combine into this international and be a "faith of peace" because of the fact they could could help terrorism. Christians and Muslims are political events now attributable to their leaders. Believers and followers of "God" are greater plausible whilst they don't seem to be linked with the church/mosques.

The majority of the world's population at one time thought the world was flat.

So many people CAN'T be wrong, right?

It's an illogical assumption that stems from our desire to fit in, Look at how many people followed Hitler and his ideals. We must be the master race... everybody's doing it. Truth can only be proven by FACT.
