I live in the UK, and just purchased an airbag from the US. I want it shipped over here, but is it safe? I wouldn't exactly want it going off in mid flight :).

Thanks

I imagine the seller (if it's a commercial enterpise) is accustomed to meeting shipping requirements and would ship it in such a way as to ensure its safety. That could mean that it would be shipped "ground" (via boat/freighter) or that an airline would be notified that the cargo had to be shipped in a pressurized area so as not to react to loss of pressure.

If you're too concerned, you could contact the seller and inquire as to how the situation is being handled and ask whether they'd considered that aspect of its transport.

In the USA, federal regulations do not allow air transport...they need to be ground shipped. You will need to check with a shipper for overseas. The concern is definitely for an explosive potential due to loss of atmospheric pressure. things change in altitude and inder the right circumstances, they could deploy. There is also the potentila for static shock during flight.
I hope this helps you

THEY ARE SHIPPED ALL OVER THE WORLD AND I DON'T SEE ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT GOING OFF BECAUSE YOU NEED POWER FOR THIS, HOWEVER I WOULD BE MORE CONCERNED WITH THE INSTALLATION AND MAKING SURE THAT ALL ELECTRICAL IS CHECKED BEFORE INSTALLING IT.
