Do i need to hook it up with a HD ready freeview box?

When we bought our HD tv, we were able to hook it up and watch our regular channels via Direct TV satellite as usual. However, in order to receive the Hi Def channels we had to subscribe to their HD service, which cost us about an extra $10 a month. If you're on cable, you can call your cable company and subscribe. There is a series of channels that are broadcast in HD, and the picture quality is so much better than than of the "regular" channels. You will need to connect your cable box or other device to one of the HDMI inputs on your new TV set to receive the HD stations, as well.

buy a HD antenna ($30) to view those free off-the-air HD local channels in your area.
