i am a military wife you can send soda and laundry detergent you just have to take special precautions as you would when sending anything that could possibly spill tape and tighten all lids shut and put each bottle in suround wrap and seal in zip lock bags it should be ok soda is non persible and laundry detergent is just fine too
i had a husband in iraq for 15 monts and i had to mail all sorts of crazy things to the soliders there including lots of soda and soap just make sure they are not going to spill you will need to fill out a customs form but you should be ok sending it just as long as you take the proper precautions
if you are really worried about anything you have to ship check with your local post office and inquire how to pack and ship it they are very helpful usually some are not but thats life
there is three things you can never ship pork porn and alchol to soliders there is a few other regulations of course but thoes are the major ones good luck to you

VERY carefully. actually shipping carbonated beverages is not recommended at all. the pressure(or lack thereof) in planes can cause them to explode or otherwise leak(even plastic bottles, forget about cans or glass bottles)
for the laundry detergent..powders is best, but if you absolutely MUST ship liquid, then open the bottle, place some plastic wrap on the mouth, then reseal(unless it comes with a security seal, then you are okay) and then place the bottle inside a larger plastic bag and seal that closed..ziplock works best, not just a random grocery bag.

Send it the same as you would if it wasn't an APO address. The rules aren't different for domestic packages. Just put plenty of stuffing in the box so that it won't break or rattle around in the box. As long as it isn't alcohol or flammable material, You can send it. Post office isn't aloud to open packages. (the only person is a postal inspector- and the are limited people, like one to a district) so as long as you don't tell them the exact thing you have in your parcel- they wont know. I send alcohol in the mail all the time.
But what you are sending is fine.

dont send liquid laundry detergent. send the powder stuff. what i just did for my husband was get some tupperware and fill those with the powder so that i didnt have to mess with the box breaking.
as for the soda..my husband said not to send it. He said he could no only get in trouble for it, but that it will expload under pressure.
They can get it at most places there. If not..tell him just to get some at the dfac becuase most of them have it there too. sorry..the rules suck. my husband has an apo address too...

Amazon does usually to a FPO/APO address it depends on the seller. Look at Target usually they will. Your other option is having it mailed to you and then you ship it yourself via Flat Rate Priority.

check with the post office and see if they allow that. I have gotten liquids over at my ap address but since soda has the cO2 in it then that may not be a good idea. The detergent I hope that you can find it in powder. If not see if you can find one of those machines that suck all the air out for freezing and storing food. I do that for my husband when I bake so things dont get stale. But if you can t find one then dont ship it.

You cannot ship hazardous materials by USPS. Don't believe me? Go to your local post office and ask THEM.
I'm sure soda and laundry detergent is available at PX's at the APO addresses. We had them in the countries I was stationed in.

You don't. Any APO has these items anyway, so you don't need to send them.

Not a chance. Can't be too careful. You might check with your local USO for alternatives.
