I was wondering if I will have to take a test over here in Florida
or does it matter??

Well, it depends on how long it's been expired. If it's less than 30 days, you turn it in and get your FL license.

If you have an out-of-state license, and it has not expired beyond 30 days, you may be able to convert your license without taking a written or road test. Review the requirements for citizens and non-citizens.

If it's more than 30 days, I'm not sure what they do. Check at a DMV office, or see the second source listed below.

Most likely you will have to re-test. I not promise, but, this happened to me when I moved to Texas years ago. New job and finding a house and my License expired somewhere in the maze. They said had I came in when the license was still good I could have just exchanged it. Now I would have to re-test. So, that what I did.
The first answer is more realistic. No matter what you have to do. The first thing you "have" to do is go get another license, they tell you then.

You can't renew a driver's license, except in that state, in person.
