D80 automatic flash?

When the flash is needed will it pop up on its own or will i have to manually flip it up whenever it is needed?

It will only pop up in AUTO and selected scene modes.

It should "pop up" on its own. If you're serious about using flash, check the off-camera flash units offered by your camera company. IMO its always best to buy the flash designed for your camera by the camera company.
