Make sure its the right size, and installed on all the right pulleys. If its still loose, you prolly haven't reset the tensioner pulley. Its got a bolt that must be adjusted so that the pulley is free to tension the belt properly.

First off never use a belt that has failed and jumped off. If your asking the question how to install a new belt Your going to have to know how it is tightened either with an automatic tensioning pulley that needs to wound back or an adjuster pulley or alternator that piviots. And have someone inspect all the pulleys brackets and see that there all in alignment.

Check the belt tensioner to make sure it has enough tension to keep the belt on and make sure the belt is not damaged and all the pulleys are aligned and in good shape I.E. no damage to the edge of any components.
