I've been like this since I was a teen. What's my deal? I'm exhausted, but I just "rest" in bed at night with my eyes wide opened.

I first and for most want you to know you are not alone. I also do not sleep. I am a morning person, and it makes my life very, hard. I do go to sleep but cannot stay asleep. I have had studies done, and medication also. None seem to work for me. Are you high strung? Have you been tested for ADD or ADHD? If not you should. They both can cause sleep problems. I, try to stay in bed for the first hour or so, but then I get up and try to read until I am feeling like I might sleep. But most of the time I just doze off for about 30 minutes or so. Do not drink caffeine after five pm, do not do exercises either at least three hours before bed. That does help. Drink a calming tea of some sort. If you have issue bothering you, you need to get help, from a friend for professional of some sort to help you. There are things that you can do. I hope things go well for you. Try to go to bed with good thoughts.
Sweet dreams.

Doctors say that if you can't fall asleep it is probably anxiety and if you can't stay asleep throughout the night it could be depression. Are you the kind of person that tends to worry alot? Do you go over and over things in your head? Try to talk to your doctor about this and see. Therapy may be a good way to get some peace and sleep.

Check with doctor and after he can't find anything then use the cure that Jesus, Moses and Buddha used. Also it was prescribed by Hippocrates and Aristotle. Learn where your energy comes from.

If you eat plenty of food and not sleep for 5 days, you will collapse. If you get plenty of sleep and don't eat for 2 weeks, you will have plenty of energy. What you do is the greatest cure ever known. It is called fasting. Jesus was in bad shape. Then I got Him to fast for 40 days. After that He is preaching, walking on water and bringing the dead back to life. The site below has quotes from 18 medical doctors (MDs) saying that it is the best cure for many things.
