I don't want to come off sounding rude, but they're not demanding the execution of the British teacher's teddy bear, but of the British teacher herself.

That said, it's the blood-thirsty fanatics who believe that 15 days in prison (which is her final punishment) is not enough. They're really ticked off and consider it a huge blasphemy, which is ridiculous of course. We ARE talking about a fluffy, cuddly thing which kids love and use for comfort.

I don't know what will happen to that woman, I feel for her really.

As salaamu a'alikym.

Insha'Allah, "Islam" is not demanding the exectuion of the teacher.
The Sudan is not "Islam".
Islam is a religion.
Sudan is a soverign nation with its own goernment, laws, culture, customs, etc.

Differentiating between Islam and nations where Islam is the majority religion may be difficult, like separating the Western nations and Christianity however,m they are different.

Imagine if the world judged Christianity by what the USof A, England, France, Itally, Germany, etc. have done and are doing!!! People would be converting to Islam in large if not huge numbers! Is that why Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world and specifically the West?

A biased view based on an inaccurate understanding of the news does not help to facilitate communication nor discussion between people of differing religions, cultures, nationalities and backgrounds.

Ma'a salaam.

The Teddy Bear is SAFE - it is the teacher they want to execute. She let her 7 year old pupils call it Mohamed and the locals deem this to be an insult to Islam. I think the whole thing is an insult to intelligence and shows the idiotic levels to which religion has been allowed to go.

Well, first, they don't want to execute the teddy bear hehe .... but I see another problem with your question. You said "Islam" is demanding ... no ... there are a few Muslims making a ruckus about it. But most Muslims aren't making a fuss, and of course those are the ones you don't hear about. Don't condemn a whole religion because of the actions of a few individuals.

Demanding execution of a teacher who just happened to give her teddy beat the name Mohammed (however it's spelt) is going overboard and I am going to be one to say that if religion has come down to something like that, then I'm glad I don't believe in any religion at all.

Muslims are so ashamed of their dysfunctional culture that anything will drive them into a homicidal rage. ANYTHING. I mean, a frigin' teddy bear. A TEDDY BEAR. Sheesh.

We need to bar any more muslims from coming here. We don't need their poisonous religion.

Monica is so right. This has nothing to do with Islam. Who says the Sudanese are Ambassadors for Islam? Who says the Saudis are? Neither are!!! No nation on this earth as it stands are!! People are people at the end of the day. Many people twist religion to suit, have mostly always done so and this will probably never change as humans have this wretched ego. No human is God. Humans will err whatever their belief system. These people are probably bored and looking for any reason to take to the streets. The ones that are shown are probably uneducated in the main and have led a very sheltered sort of life. Such simple people are easily coerced or swayed.

Many Muslims are standing back aghast at their OVER-reaction...the biased anti-Islamic media just don't feature them. And of course the biased anti-Islamic media are ever eager to jump on the band-wagon of those few muslims behaving badly - as ever they do!! And equally: western non-muslims are ever eager to jump on the band-wagon of mockery and ridicule as a means of expressing a prejudice that is perhaps within. We are all guilty somewhat of looking at those we consider different to us with disdain rather than those closer to home who are behaving badly in other ways.

To keep things in perspective:

"And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?" [Matthew 7:3]

Mocking doesn't help!!! They do not represent Muslims worldwide. Generalisation is always a bad thing!! Equally: a US citizen would not like that non-US citizens think of all Americans as being like Bush!! Right???

Go in peace.

They're not demanding that the teddy bear die. They're demanding that the teacher get jail time or a public flogging.
