Someone on another question has stated that they don't believe that Jesus is the son of God.

However the Bible tells us that this is a fact - Jesus is the son of God.
Matthew 3:17
'and behold, a voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."
The ESV Bible gives a footnote: 'Or my Son, my (or the) Beloved.

JW's do believe that Jesus is the Son of God just as your Bible confirms. They do not believe that he is God though.

The New Encyclopædia Britannica says: “Neither the word Trinity, nor the explicit doctrine as such, appears in the New Testament, nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the Shema in the Old Testament: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord’ (Deut. 6:4). . . . The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies. . . . By the end of the 4th century . . . the doctrine of the Trinity took substantially the form it has maintained ever since.”—(1976), Micropædia, Vol. X, p. 126.

The New Catholic Encyclopedia states: “The formulation ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century. But it is precisely this formulation that has first claim to the title the Trinitarian dogma. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective.”—(1967), Vol. XIV, p. 299.

In The Encyclopedia Americana we read: “Christianity derived from Judaism and Judaism was strictly Unitarian [believing that God is one person]. The road which led from Jerusalem to Nicea was scarcely a straight one. Fourth century Trinitarianism did not reflect accurately early Christian teaching regarding the nature of God; it was, on the contrary, a deviation from this teaching.”—(1956), Vol. XXVII, p. 294L.

Of coures we believe that Jesus is God's son. The Bible says that clearly. Many people think that we don't because we don't accept the trinity which by the way has pagan origins. According to the Nouveau Dictionnaire Universel, “The Platonic trinity, itself merely a rearrangement of older trinities dating back to earlier peoples, appears to be the rational philosophic trinity of attributes that gave birth to the three hypostases or divine persons taught by the Christian churches. . . . This Greek philosopher’s [Plato, fourth century B.C.E.] conception of the divine trinity . . . can be found in all the ancient [pagan] religions.” The word trinity never appears in the Bible. If the Father and the Son have a name (Jehovah, Jesus Christ), why doesn't the Holy spirit also? "But he, being full of holy spirit, gazed into heaven and caught sight of God’s glory and of Jesus standing at God’s right hand, and he said: “Look! I behold the heavens opened up and the Son of man standing at God’s right hand." - Acts 7:55, 56 => Where's the Holy Spirit? The Holy spirit is God's active force, his power. The texts from the Bible refer to the Holy Spirit as something, not as someone. How could God be Jesus. Can you and your son be the same person? No, it's impossible. "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation." - Colossians 1:15. = > Jesus was created. He has a begining but God doesn't. “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Matthew 24:36). If God and Jesus are the same shouldn't Jesus know the day?

JWs will insist that they DO believe that Jesus is the son of God. Their literature is full of statements that say just that.

However, the crucial point here is what do they MEAN by that title? They certainly do not mean what orthodox Christianity means!

The Church teaches that this is a title of divinity and that Christ has ALWAYS been called the Son of God - he is the ETERNAL Son. There never was a time when God did not exist and there never was a time when God was not in triune fellowship with the Son and the Holy Spirit (John 1:18 - Greek grammar is the perpetual, continuous tense.)

JWs state that Jehovah God created Christ as the first of his creation - so Christ is a mere creature. This forces them to render John 1:1 as Christ being 'a god' and not 'was God'. JWs have to violate Greek grammar rules again.

Jesus stressed his total humanity when on earth, calling himself the Son of Man. Yet the New Testament also calls him the Son of God. He is both. Put both teachings together and you have God incarnate - God in the flesh. You cannot stick to one title without giving equal credence to the other. JWs major on Jesus being the Son of Man by insisting he was the exact equivalent of the perfect first man, Adam, and no more. They are only prepared to say Christ was the first created angel (Michael, the archangel) and a demi-god, second in position to Jehovah. If only they understood what the title Son of God really means, their confusion would be cleared up.

Jews believe all humans are children of GOD.
Jesus was by most Jews a prophet.
In the OLD TESTAMET it says that all humans were created in the form of GOD, form is body face and mind.
To JEWS there is only one book not two. Just the OLD TESTAMENT.

Most scholars agree that the Old Testament was composed and compiled between the 12th and the 2nd century BC.[1] The books of the Old Testament were therefore completed before Jesus' birth. Jesus and his disciples based their teachings on them, referring to them as "the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms ... the scriptures".

New Testament (Greek: Καινή Διαθήκη, Kainē Diathēkē) is the name given to the final portion of the Christian Bible, written after the Old Testament. It is sometimes called the Greek Testament or Greek Scriptures, or the New Covenant – which is the literal translation of the original Greek. The original texts were written in Koine Greek by various unknown authors after c. AD 45 and before c. AD 140. Its 27 books were gradually collected into a single volume over a period of several centuries. The Bbible (Old Testament)

You will always hear lies about Jehovah's Witnesses.
That is one of the lies.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe Jesus is the Son of God, and are the only group that follow in his footsteps.

Joh 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

Jehovah's Witnesses believe this and all other things recorded in the Bible. What we do not believe is the man-made additions to the word of God. We are very reasonable people but refuse to be misled by traditions or assumptions which God himself has refuted by His Word.

-Son of God
-Promised Messiah
-Creating agent
-Judge
-Savior, Redeemer, and Expiator of our sins

They do not believe He is the following:

-God

-Extant prior to all creation (rather that He was God's first creature)
