Depends, do you mean condoms as protection, or condoms and chemical forms of contreception as protection?

If you are together, both been checked out and don't want a baby, yes, it can be safe to just use medical forms (AKA the pill)
If you are together, haven't been checked out, don't want a baby, and aren't using medical forms, it's irresponsible, idiotic and probably quite a few other words.
If you are together and want a baby, then it helps to not use any form of protection.

If she's the only one who doesn't want a baby, it is her responsibility completely.

Disreguarding protection, no matter what the situation is always irresponsible. If you work construction w/out a hardhat, you pretty much are taking a risk....we're no fools these days, and I'm sure we're all keen to the dangers of any choices we make. Children are not something to be taken lightly, hopefully we plan for such things.

If you're being monogamous to each other and have been checked for stds (and were honest to each other about the results) then it's your decision.
I would use protection thought if you dont want to end up pregnant.

it is not irresponsible if u r willin to take responsibility of the consequences of not using protection...u could be exposing urself to lots here...take the risk if u think it is worth it...in the end u will only have urself to blame...

After you really know each other, and you both "know" beyond a doubt that either of you are going to be engaging in sex with others, than it is fine.

Its not just about babies. Condoms stop STI's. Its called protecting yourself.

I ain't wrappin' it up because if I wanted to have lousy relations, I could just buy a cold fish and go to town.

No glove, much love.
