They are forgetting another verse; "Judge not lest ye be judged." It's one thing to discuss an opinion of the verse that says being gay is an abomination, quite another to judge an individual for a personal choice.
Oh, and 'the nihilist' contradicts himself...if an opinion is a fact about ones' self, then it IS a fact...Hmmmmm.

This is a very broad question. Atheism literally means 'without god' and since most human acts of devastation have been in the name of one god or another, this would suggest that they are less harmful than people with a religion. If you think about it in a more abstract way, atheism promotes free thinking and the choice to believe what you want without the hindrance of someone telling you what is correct without any evidence. In this way, many religions actually promote ignorance over knowledge. (The reasoning behind this lays with early society humans trying to form a manageable society that functions well together. Religion is a very effective way to do this, hence why there are so many similarities between them). So depending on what you mean by harm, in early human society atheism could have been more detrimental to the progression of the human race but in recent times (the last 150 years or so) religion is losing its place in modern society.

Pedophiles are usually straight, for one.
I thought the question was about consenting adults.
No adult's consensual sex life bothers me.
I'm surprised any gays can remain Christian in the face of such deliberate misunderstandings and hatred.

To each their own. Christians are afraid of anything that makes them think and question god. Free will to them is one of 2 choices. It's either this or this. That is not free will. It's the definition of free will that makes the difference.
Ent Wife, the difference there is, and I refer to an ancient and honorable law, an it harm none. Then can free will be exercised. We have much to gain from gathering wisdom from all walks of life. Common sense prevails in the most basic tenets of ancient laws and religions.

As a Christian I do not condemn the person only the sin. Yes they are exercising their free will and that is their God given right to choose. I too made a choice that is to follow God and put His will above mine . All I can do is present the choices and the consequences of the choice . Choice 1: Accept God's plan of salvation through belief in Jesus, repent of sin, and be redeemed to fellowship with God the Father. Consequence of choice 1: Eternity spent in the presence of a loving God, no tears or sorrows, joy and light. Choice2: Reject God (choosing to be homosexual is rebellion against
God and is called an abomination in His word) Consequence of choice 2: Eternity alone, in total darkness, in agony, without God, no hope, no exit, no escape clause, no trial period. These choices and their consequence are for eternity choose carefully.

Thats because there is no such thing as free will. Now listen I believe in free will of what you do on this earth and the choices you make but specifically free will of your salvation isnt real. John 14 Jesus said "You chose Me because I chose you first"

you do realize that you lost many of these "believers" don't you?
the Gay issue messes religious people up bad. real bad.
and one reason imho is cuz we gayish types are just about the only minority they are still aloud to pick on without too much trouble. they always go to the sodom and gomorrah story. (which is weird cuz dude offered to let them rape his daughter and the believers have no trouble with that lol)
but that seems to be enuff of a reason to hate and want to kill us.

Easy target and scares the hell out of heterosexual men afraid of being raped. Psychologists label this concept projection. Since many men are assertive and forceful with women when it comes to sex, they naturally assume other gay men must feel the same towards them.
Personally, I find heterosexual activity distasteful. However, that doesn't mean I would shun or condemn my heterosexual brothers and sisters or insist that their rights be taken away.

Just because a Christian believes in free will, doesn't mean they don't have opinions on what they believe is right or wrong.
