If the 'soul' is the non physical non viewable with the eye part of us, our feelings, personality, character, heart etc. and that part is reincarnated, why don't we carry the same personality with us through our many lives? If we are the same reincarnated soul why do we take on the characteristics of our parents? If our personalities and characters and non viewable aspects are genetic, which they clearly are, what exactly is it that is reincarnated??

if personality and character aren't genetic how come you can clearly see parental traits in children and not the same in each so it isn't about upbringing, my friend has 3 children, and very early on even when babies you could see by their personality who they took after, I am sure genetics play a big part.

Your personality is not constant, it is subject to your souls evolution!

Some of us do retain the basic personality. Traumas and life experiences change and shape our very nature. Some things repeat themselves until we get a handle on them. I think some may call this karma. Life's lesson repeated until we get it right. I'm not too sure on that count. When I was 8 I met my granddaughter from a previous life. She was 2 and we recognized each other. She always called me grandma. Everyone got tickled at a 2 year old calling an 8 year old grandma. lol It was funny, but it was serious to us. We were in a fundie church, too. How weird is that? lol Going to a fundie church and both of us reincarnated beings and recognizing each other.

because personality is learned not genetic. children have different personalaties because they are raised in different conditions. the first child has the parents undivided attention. the second child gets attention but has to share it with the older one, and gets even less attention if there is a third. you can see this by similar characteristics shared by children that are all first, middle, or third children. also it depends on financial stability of a couple. the older a couple gets the more money they are probably going to have. also the parents learn from mistakes they made with the first child. so children are raised differently depending on experience, financial stability, and age of the parents. plus if you have a funny brother you are probably not going to be as funny. you are probably going to be more artistic or athletic. you don't have to compete as much for the attention of your parents if you have different qualities than your sibling. children may not be aware of this when they are doing it, but it is somewhat of a primal instinct to find your niche in your family or group.

The essence of your personality will be the same. Different experiences through your childhood will tip you to a certain direction and you certainly learn from your family a lot as a child. When I was a kid my mum always told me that my personalitiy is exactly like my dad's (I'm not sure if it was a compliment...hehehe!) but sometimes I really recognise my mum's personality, my mum's actions in what I do. I am certainly different from my parents but obviously they did influence me as I grew up. My brother is, again, completely different.
I believe, we really have our own unique essence of personality, which we do carry into each lifetime but it's like putting different spices into the same food; it will alter the flavour slightly.

Reincarnation is like acting. You take on different roles in different lives. Learning something from each life you live, building up to a greater knowledge of life and afterlife.

Try making a dream where you take revenge, and start killing him instead, do the Kill Bill thing. I mean, in a way, you can control your dreams. I had a dream sort of like that, but it was so awesome, the guy was trying to kill me, but i changed the scenario, and turned it into a Transporter kind of scenario, and started shooting him with a machine gun. Then everything started turning into The Matrix, weird.

Your soul is unchanging, your mind and body and everything that goes along with it is temporary.

Your soul is not your memories or your personality, that is part of your earthly self.
