I have no religious affiliation. I despise the current president which, by association, I now despise the entire republican party in the US. I feel this way because of the many and great injustices that the administration is guilty of AND that they are specifically motivated by a religion that I have no interest in.

I feel a lack of strong religious affiliation gives you more of an open mind to consider all views rather than just aligning with the guy or gal who goes to the same church as you.

Very much. When I was a practicing Christian, I voted for and worked for the candidate who most closely (seemed to) believe what I did. Now that I have found my true spiritual path, I will be voting for, and working for, the candidate who most closely fits my new set of ideals. Of course, my new ideals aren't in the mainstream, so there is no candidate from my 'church'. But I am thankful that I now know better than to try and force the ideals of my religion on someone else. Not that I did that intentionally, but it was the effect of my vote.

My lack of belief does not really affect my politics. All of the Men who run for president lie and say they believe in a God.

I believe in the right for every individual to follow his or her own desires in so far as those desires do not impede others from doing the same.

Where someone's religious beliefs become manifested in politics to the point of said imposition, I oppose them across the board.

I think the general correlation is that the Religious tend to be more Conservative and therefore more to the right, but that's very generalised and I guess each political issue is different for each person.

The basic tenement to my faith is freedom. Freedom to worship or not. Freedom to have a religious belief or not.

I vote the best candidate.

I am happy that we will never have Jehovah's Witnesses as the President.

I wonder how they will train their leaders for this new earth they believe they will have.
