An even simpler way of finding out would be to contact the Swedish Embassy in Porto Novo, and ask a consular officer (instead of asking random people on Yahoo! Answers that may, or may not, have the right information)

Show money is required when travelling to other countries particularly Sweden to prove the legitimacy of the travel.

If you are in Benin's Swedish Embassy, proabably yes, you can pay for visa fees in your local currency.
