Although there is no specific mention of 'dinosaurs' in the Bible, according to the Genesis account, animals were created during the fifth and sixth creative periods or 'days'.If the Hebrew expression translated "great sea monsters"[Hebrew tanninim'] includes dinosaurs, which often inhabited swampy, watery areas, this would mean that dinosaurs were created on the fifth "day" (Gen.1:21).We do not know whether they continued to exist until man was created (toward the close of the sixth "day").At the very latest it seems likely that they must have disappeared off the earth at the time of the flood of Noah's day.
Some dinosaurs( and pterosaurs)may indeed have been created in the fifth era listed in Genesis, when the Bible says that God made "flying creatures" and "great sea monsters".Perhaps other types of dinosaurs were created in the sixth epoch. The vast array of dinosaurs with their huge appetites would have been appropriate considering the abundant vegetation that evidently existed in their time.Gen.1:20-24.
When the dinosaurs had fulfilled their purpose,God ended their life. But the Bible is silent on how he did that or when.We can be sure that dinosaurs were created by Jehovah for a purpose even if we do not fully understand that purpose at this time.

Sure...
I as a Christian thought about this many years ago. In my study I realized that God created the earth in the span of what he called a week.
First off this has really been important in our day and not many others because of the technology and machinary to dig and process such fossils. We have undergone the knowledge explosion promised to the last generation. (Daniel 12:4)
It wasnt until he created Adam when he said that he will die the day he eats of the tree of knowledge. (Genesis 2) Adam lived to be 940 years old. So Adam's day plus a season rounded to be 1000 years.
From then on God said 1000 years to us would be one day to him (2Peter 3:8)
From then till now there has been about 6000 years and the seventh day is almost here. On the seventh day he will rest and rule earth for a thousand years (Revelation 20)
So before the time of Adam, a day was however long God felt like it being. Whenever he decided to end a day, that's when he did. So any of these days before Adam could have been billions of years but to him just another day.
This is when the dinosaurs were. Many creatures came and went in designing the world for us.
This is when the dinosaurs existed and disappeared.

"There are biblical references to unknown animals. For instance, a creature called "behemoth" is described in Job 40: 15-24. Behemoth (gigantic, Hebrew) is a massive animal. Some have attempted to say the elephant or hippopotamus is meant. However, the elephant and hippopotamus do not have a tail "like a cedar" (vs. 17). The book of Job is an ancient book, about 4000 years old. Behemoth could have been what scientists call Diplodocus, a huge plant-eater. Another apparently extinct animal is described in Job 41. It is called Leviathan (vs. 1). The description fits what scientists call Kronosaurus, one of the greatest animals to ever swim the seas. Leviathan was still around as late as the time of Psalms 104 (see vs. 26). Leviathan is said to have been in the oceans where the ships traveled (the alligator or crocodile does not satisfy the description of Leviathan). The fossil record is in harmony with the Bible, not Darwinian evolution. The suddenness of the destruction apparently by huge amounts of water, the often missing consistent layers of stratum, and the absence of transitional forms in the fossil evidence all support the Bible and present serious problems for evolutionists."

The Bible is truth!
(Genesis1:20)20 And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky."
(Genesis1:21)21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
(Genesis1:22)22 God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth."
All the dinasaurs are mentioned in these verses quoted above, the ones that were flying in the air, the ones walking on the ground and the monsters of the sea, of course the Bible does not sapecifically name dinasaurs, but then, it does not name all the animals specifically.

There is...in the book of Job...Leviathon and Behemoth are 2 examples. Remember...the word dinosaur is a contemporary word invented in the early 1800's. They have other words to describe the dino's. Try looking up Job chapter 38 and 39. It's very interesting.

Towards the end of the book of Job.. there are mentions to beasts that resemble the "dinosaurs".. keep in mind that the dinosaurs didn't get the name "dinosaurs" until the recent century when scientists named them "dinosaurs".
In the book of Job, they refer to the leviathan and the bohemoth.. as to the "likeness of the stegasuarus and another beast.

The Bible makes no claims to be an all inclusive Biology book. That is simply not the subject.
You are asking the same question as, "Why can't I find my mom's apple pie recipe in the phone book?"
The purpose of the Bible is to introduce persons to God and show them the path to the eternal destination of their choosing.
I will be happy to answer any further questions you have.

Have you visited the Kentucky Creation Museum? There's a lovely diorama of Eve dressed in a cute frock standing next to a velociraptor. See photo at the bottom of this blog (http://arstechnica.com/articles/culture/ars-takes-a-field-trip-the-creation-museum.ars ).

People had no means of excavating dino bones at the time, and the dino bones that were exposed at the surface were probably thought to be dragons.
But remember this, the Bible is not a factual account of anything. It is only a book full of all of the teachings of God, Jesus, and prophets and disciples alike.
